'Risky Business' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Whatever happened to Joel and Miles?

We can hardly believe it's been 25 years since Tom Cruise danced across the screen in his tightie-whiteys, air-guitar jamming to 'Old Time Rock and Roll.'

No one could have imagined that a wry comedy about a high schooler who concocts a business plan with a high-priced call girl (Rebecca De Mornay) would catapult the young actor to iconic A-list status. He's done the Future Enterprisers club proud, but what about the rest of the cast and crew? -- By Tom Johnson

      Tom Cruise

Then: As Joel Goodsen, Cruise was a "man with a plan" and an ideal embodiment of the early-'80s preppie money lust just beginning to pervade the culture. Fresh from a miniscule role as a greaser in 'The Outsiders,' Cruise became poised to take Tinseltown by storm with his role as charismatic flyboy Maverick in 'Top Gun' just three years later.

      Tom Cruise

Now: He's been a box office king for eons, but it hasn't been all cruise control for Tom; it took him a while to recover from the couch jumping, the Scientology hassles and the TomKat overkill that recently tarnished his golden-boy image. Now his little Suri is one of the most popular celeb-u-tots around, he's toned down the PDA quotient with wife Katie Holmes and his tenure co-heading United Artists has been a hit.

      Rebecca De Mornay

Then: Whether seducing Cruise on the Chicago El, or dodging her, ahem, "manager," "Guido the killer pimp," Lana's head for business found the perfect complement in Joel's teenybopper captain of industry. 'Risky' was De Mornay's movie debut and she made an indelible impression as a brainy hooker with an ambitious streak a mile wide. "Time of your life, eh kid?"

      Rebecca De Mornay

Now: De Mornay hit her movie peak in 1992 as every new mother's worst nightmare -- the sinister nanny in 'The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,' and then she gravitated to recurring spots in such TV series as 'ER' and 'The Practice.' On the personal front, she was wed to Ryan O'Neal's son Patrick, engaged to singer Leonard Cohen and was in the news lately for a brush with the law on a DUI charge.

      Joe Pantoliano

Then: Guido is one Chi-town pimp who won't be two-timed by Lana, Joel or anyone else. A rage-aholic who just wants his cut, Guido is the biggest crimp in Joel's plan to rehab his father's waterlogged Porsche. Whether sucking Joel's exhaust in a madcap suburban chase scene or reselling the family's furniture back to the hapless teen, Pantoliano's the real deal in this, his first meaty role.

      Warner Bros.

      Joe Pantoliano

Now: A real Jersey boy made good, Joey "Pants" is known for his portrayal of tough guys -- and his glorious cinematic deaths. He was shot by Jennifer Tilly in 'Bound,' and as Ralph Cifaretto on 'The Sopranos' (a role for which he won an Emmy) got whacked by a vengeful Tony bereft at the loss of his horse. Pantoliano most recently starred in the indie 'Canvas,' and he's got four movies set for '08.

      Curtis Armstrong

Then: Playing best buddy Miles, Armstrong (in his movie debut) sets the wheels in motion by dialing the digits of the first call girl to come and show Joel a "good time." Caught in a ride-along as Joel tries to lose Guido in a game of auto cat-and-mouse, Miles sums up the absurd situation, saying: "I'm being chased by Guido the killer pimp and I've got a trig midterm tomorrow."

      Curtis Armstrong

Now: Armstrong gained enduring fame as Dudley "Booger" Dawson in 'Revenge of the Nerds,' reprising his role in sequels and in two TV installments of the franchise. A comedy natural, he's been memorable in 'Moonlighting' opposite Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd and in a long string of wacky films including the latest National Lampoon riff: 'Ratko: The Dictator's Son.'

      Bronson Pinchot

Then: Making his movie debut as Barry, Joel's easily flustered partner in the extracurricular Future Enterprisers club, Bronson was the bean counter who tallied up the night's profits and paid off the working girls. He was a numbers guy.
