Rachel Bilson Interview for 'Jumper'

12 Questions With: Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson knows how to steal hearts. She bewitched Adam Brody -- and pretty much all of male America -- as Wonder Woman costume-wearing Summer Roberts on Fox's 'The O.C.,' seduced taken older man Zach Braff in 'The Last Kiss' and most recently entranced a teleporting Hayden Christensen (her current beau, by the way) in 'Jumper.' Moviefone caught up with the petite siren to chat about whether she'll pop up on 'Gossip Girl' anytime soon, who she misses from 'The O.C.' and why wearing an Amazonian superhero's threads was so "mortifying." -- By Tom DiChiara

    Matt Barnes, FOX

    1. How did you land the role of Millie in 'Jumper'?
Doug Liman directed the pilot of a TV series I was on ['The O.C.'], so we met way back then and had a relationship. So he literally sent me a text message saying, "What are you doing?" I'm like, "I'm at my cousin's wedding in Tennessee ... What do you mean?" A week later he called me and asked me if I'd fly to Toronto and meet with him and Hayden. So it was very quick, and I jumped in kind of late.

    20th Century Fox

    2. Was filming in the Colosseum your favorite part of making 'Jumper'?
Yeah, by far. I mean, who gets to be in the Colosseum when the sun's coming up. And you have to capture it on film. It was truly the most amazing experience ...The labyrinth is off-limits, and they were filming down there but I wasn't. So I was like, "I have to go down there. Come on, you know?" So I snuck out for a minute, like ran out and ran back in just to say I was there.

    Everett Collection

    3. Do you still keep in touch with everyone from 'The O.C.'?
You know what? I haven't seen anyone since the wrap party. Well, Mischa [Barton] I actually ran into. But I don't keep in touch with anyone. I'd like to get together with Melinda Clarke and Kelly Rowan. We were all really close. I heard [Kelly] had a baby and I haven't even spoken to her! I need to send her an email.

    4. What's your favorite episode of 'The O.C.'?
Probably ... the Spider-Man kiss was a fun one. I remember that one really sticks out in my mind. It was a cool reenactment.

    Fox

    5. What about the one where you dressed as Wonder Woman? Was that nerve-racking?
Oh God! That's one I never want to revisit [laughs]. I don't ever want to see that. "Oh, you dressed up as Wonder Woman?" God, that's mortifying ... And then everyone was like, "You're playing Wonder Woman [in the rumored movie]?" I'm like, "They're making 'Wonder Woman'?"

    6. Are there any rumblings about a possible 'O.C.' movie?
No. I had somebody else ask me that because of 'Sex and the City' the movie, but I was like, "No." I'd watch 'Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Movie,' though.

    J. Trueblood, FOX

    7. You had a two-episode stint on 'Chuck' last season. Think you'll reprise that role or appear on ['O.C.' creator] Josh Schwartz's other show 'Gossip Girl'?
I mean, 'Chuck' was fun because Josh runs it and stuff. But, you know, I'm trying to do another movie.

    NBC

    8. How does a big-budget movie like 'Jumper' compare to making a TV show or smaller film?
There's lots of special effects and lots of traveling -- just a totally different experience altogether. In TV, you're sort of cranking them out every week, so there's certain stuff that has to get done by a certain time, so it's faster and more like a job. And this is more creative and more time spent. I loved my time on television, but from here on out I'd like to focus on film.

    20th Century Fox

    9. In 'The Last Kiss' your character makes a mixed tape for Zach Braff. What was on the first mix you ever made and who was it for?
Oh my God! Probably my boyfriend in seventh grade. 'Always and Forever' by Heatwave was on it. And Prince 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World' was on it ... and some H-Town 'Knockin' the Boots' and SWV 'Weak.' Wow, yeah -- I'm busting it out right now. That's right! Oh yeah, and 'Let's Stay Together' by Al Green. I could go on for a while -- like really ghetto, really good stuff.
