In the '90s, family-friendly baseball movies hit theaters on what seemed like a yearly basis: 'The Sandlot,' 'Rookie of the Year,' 'Angels in the Outfield'... 'The Perfect Game' recalls such flicks: It's the true story of the first Mexican team to win the Little League World Series. (Don't worry, everyone speaks perfect English.) So yep, it's 'Sandlot' meets 'The Great Debaters,' with Clifton Collins Jr. ('Capote') taking what has to be his lightest role yet as coach. And co-starring Cheech as a man of the cloth!

This film looks amazing. The Clip of the Day writer says this is Clifton Collins' "lightest" roll -- maybe we all need a little "light" right now. We are all getting enough horrific messages everyday just listening to the news. The true story this film is based on is a reminder to everyone that nothing is impossible -- you just have to have the heart to go after it.
Can't wait to see it! Thank you Lions Gate!
