The new 'Harry Potter' flick is still a few holidays away. (Can you even picture Thanksgiving in the sweltering heat of summer?) But just in time for the long Fourth of July weekend, we've got exclusive photos from 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.'
One features our beloved wizard (Daniel Radcliffe) under the watchful eye of Prof. McGonagall (Maggie Smith), while the other shows Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) in her signature psychedelic spectrespecs. (Click on photos for full-size image.)

Then, Brooke, why are you even looking at this blog-line? If you don't like the Harry Potter movies, fine. Everyone's got an opinion. So don't go into the chats about that topic...that makes more sense than being somewhere that you don't want to be and, honestly, you are not wanted... Have a nice day.

Harry Potter movies are well produced and very entertaining even for adults.
It's a long way from The Wizard of Oz to HP magic. The special effects are very good. The only thing that is a bit annoying at times is Harry's facial expression that seems a bit fabricated by the directors probably. All in all in a 1 to 10 scale I'd have to put HP at 8.5.

I love harry potter, and I am so excited for this movie. I am pretty sure I will cry, just llke I did in the book.

Love all of the books, and the movies are getting better everytime, I was esp satisfied with The Order of the Phoenix. It lets the non readers understand that the Harry Potter series wasnt some cute kids book series, that it could be very dark and tragic, and like Christi i am pretty sure that I will be crying like a little baby when i see the movie. I cried for days when i finished the sixth book, J.K. Rowling is an inspiration to me.

All the movies were good except order of the pheonix. The book was too big for the movie and they kept jumping from scenes quickly. They skipt alot of things and couldnt stay on the same scene for more than 2 minutes! I really hope they dont do this to the rest of the movies. They are going to have to somehow catch up in the next movie for all the information they left out of order of the pheonix.
When will the torture end at 8:25AM on Jul 6th 2008
Please let this endless stream of imagination destroying drek. My grand daughter was a Harry Potter fan until the films destroyed her inmage of the world of Hogworts.
Celeste at 1:15PM on Jun 8th 2009
The torture will end when you explain to your grandaughter that no book is ever out done by the movie, because the imagination is limitless. In contrast to producing a film, even of this magnitude with an enormous bank roll, film is limited and represents the director's view of the events in the book. As for you, if it's torture, why are you in this chat to begin with?

Harry is going to need a cane to get around on pretty soon. And NO he is not hot!!!

I agree in regards to the Order of the Pheonix falling short. The book was awesome and the movie didn't do it justice, I hope they don't do that to The Half Blood Prince. It just goes to show that reading the book is often better than any movie.

you know the books were good, but the movies cant come close, especially now that dumb-o door is apparently hidding a love life, i dont know maybe i expected more than crap from the movies and i know that the directors cant fit everything in the movies, but i was soo dissapointed with the first second and third movies that i basically refuse to see any more suckage. the movies are only good if you havent read the books.

Come on people, let's get real. The Harry Potter books are amazing, but the movies have been a complete injustice to true Potter fans. The first two movies were decent, and after that it was all downhill. The movies completly betray the books and leave out inumerable details that are vital to the plot.(What about the weighing of the wands in the Goblet of Fire and Kreature is barely mentioned in the Order of the Pheonix, and everyone who has read the books knows how important these events are) The directors of the third, fourth and fifth movies had no idea about how charachters should act, or about how to show character development.( Ginny is not devopled into a main character and the way the new Dumbledor acts is a joke) There is only one solution to save the last movie, and that is to have Peter Jackson direct it, because he will stay true to the books and he is not afraid to make a three and a half hour movie. (True Potter fans would love this, look at the sucsess of The Lord of the Rings). J.K. Rowling needs to stand up and not let Warner Brothers butcher her amazing story, because as someone who grew up with Harry and his friends, I am disgusted with the movies.

Have no idea at all how they can recap all of the skippeed over info from the Pheonix. but in general ALL of the movies have been right on target with the books. I have always read the book prior to seeing a movie (if there is one) and usually I am very disappointed in how the movies are done; this has not happened with this series...I am anxious for the next movie wishing it would not be so long of a wait BUT what the hell I have waited some 30-35yrs for something this good to come along. Lets face it, it took way too long for both Lord of the rings and the H.Potter movies to come along. AND with Lord of the rings there are a lot of questions left to guesswork-thus The Hobbit is suppose to backtrack just to fill in a lot of the details that are as yet hanging....The Harry Potter Movies have been far better with keeping the audience well informed of all the goings on...Sadly, these are at an end far too soon for most of the people I know and myself; seems that these books/movies could continue for a a couple more rounds bringing us back to the Calmness (HAHAHA) and simpleness of what Hogwarts was to begin with. But of course it would mean that the kids would have to grow up a little more and lets face how many readers/watchers really want that?--They are enjoyable, relaxing and entertaining so for now I simply say "Carry on my friend, carry on"...

I feel very sorry for all the folks who don't like Harry. What you are missing! It was bloody brillent to develop this story. It's the best thing since Tolkien did Lord of the Rings. You know he received alot of negative flack also. Sadly many people do not recognize genius when it's staring them in the face. For the woman who's granddaughter lost her vision of Hogwarts. She must not be very imaginative. We can all keep our own images. The movies are just one person's view. I guess if she feels that way she'll either never read anything else or never watch a movie. The best thing this series ever did was turn millions of children onto reading and off of the boob tube. My only beef is that I haven't liked the last 3 directors. I was very happy with Columbus' take on it. These others have darkened it too much.
