Keanu's got one grim message for Earthlings.

Like 'I Am Legend,' this holiday season's major event movie is also a remake of a classic sci-fi story.

Keanu Reeves steps into the iconic role of alien-in-human form Klaatu in 'The Day the Earth Stood Still,' a retooling of the beloved 1951 movie of the same name.

We don't get a clear look a Klaatu's gigantic robo-pal Gord in this first trailer, but there is plenty of cool epic destruction to behold, plus some face time with co-stars Jennifer Connelly and Jaden Smith (Will's son). Seems Christmas action flicks run in the family.
