First Look: 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'

'Twilight' didn't do it for you? Sixth 'Potter' flick will be worth the wait.

If good things really do come to those who wait, then 'Harry Potter' fans have something really, really good coming their way in 2009.

'Potter' Nation was taken aback when the release of the series' sixth installment, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,' was pushed back eight months, from this past November to next July.

To ease the strain this waiting game has put on the minds of muggles everywhere, we bring you a few tidbits from a trip we took to the London set of 'Half-Blood Prince' in early '08 (look for the full feature to come closer to the film's release).

--Just like 'Potter' heads everywhere, star Daniel Radcliffe eagerly awaits the seminal showdown between Harry and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, even if that battle won't come until 'Deathly Hallows.' "In the case of Harry in ['Prince'], his want -- or his need -- is basically to kill Voldemort and he realizes that the way in which he'll do this is to become Dumbledore's favorite foot soldier," Radcliffe says. "That's the role you see him gradually moving toward in this film."

--With each 'Potter' movie comes at least one new teacher, played with consistency by Britain's most venerated veteran actors. New to the party in 'Prince' is Jim Broadbent, who plays Potions teacher Horace Slughorn. Says Radcliffe when asked if the relationship between Harry and Slughorn will be as strained on screen as in the books: "I think Harry ultimately likes Slughorn. I think he thinks he's a very good person and his heart is in the right place, but he's just very opportunistic and totally self-obsessed."

--Also new to 'Prince' is Director of Photography Bruno Delbonnel, who shot the gorgeous French flicks 'Amelie' and 'A Very Long Engagement.' What does that mean to the average fan? "It'll be warmer than the last film," director David Yates says of the sixth movie's look. "'Order of the Phoenix' was dealing with teenage angst and it was dealing with that period in life where you start to rebel a wee bit and you're struggling against authority and all of that, while this film is much warmer and much more romantic."
