Julia Roberts Hottest Moments
Over the past two decades, no actress has captured moviegoers' attention, headlined more hit movies and pleased more fans than Julia Roberts. She's played a hooker with a heart of gold, a runaway bride and a world-famous actress (not a stretch) on screen, romanced a bevy of good-looking men (and one Lyle Lovett) off screen, and won an Oscar. And through it all, she's always been America's sweetheart.
As she returns to theaters with 'Duplicity,' her first role as a leading lady in six years, Moviefone looks back at Roberts' hottest moments -- including her career-making turn in 'Pretty Woman,' her high profile romances with Kiefer Sutherland and Benjamin Bratt, and her cleavage-and-soul-baring performance in 'Erin Brockovich.' And it just gets better from there. -- By Tom DiChiara

Gettin' Some Satisfaction
At the age of 19, Roberts made her big-screen debut opposite Justine Bateman and Liam Neeson as a beautiful, big-haired hipster musician in 1988's 'Satisfaction.' Though critics were less than smitten with the film, Roberts was clearly smitten with 35-year-old co-star Neeson. The two began dating, and even moved in together for a while.

Tasty 'Pizza'
Julia fared much better with her second theatrical release of '88, 'Mystic Pizza,' about three girlfriends (Roberts, Annabeth Gish, Lily Taylor) who come of age while working at a pizza parlor in Mystic, Conn. Though not a runaway hit, the film offered Roberts her first real taste of fame and introduced audiences to the pretty young woman who would become America's sweetheart.

'Steel' Equals Gold
Roberts' ascent to stardom received another boost when she followed up 'Pizza' with the critically lauded 1989 dramedy 'Steel Magnolias.' Her bittersweet performance as a diabetic mom won her a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe and scored the actress her first Oscar nomination. Roberts also became briefly engaged to her on-screen hubby in the film, Dylan McDermott.

'Pretty Woman' Indeed
A year later, in 1990, a little romantic comedy (maybe you've heard of it?), 'Pretty Woman' made Julia the most sought-after young actress in Hollywood. Her turn as a sassy hooker who melts business tycoon Richard Gere's icy heart helped the film rake in $463 million worldwide, won her a second Golden Globe, earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination AND forever made it cool to sing Prince in the bathtub.

Dating Kiefer
While filming the 1990 psychological thriller 'Flatliners' Roberts met and became engaged to a pre-'24' Kiefer Sutherland. The photogenic pair ran it hot and heavy for a while, but the relationship flatlined: Roberts called off the wedding just days prior and fled to Dublin with Sutherland's former pal Jason Patric. We have to imagine Jack Bauer was pissed.

Finding Neverland
In 1991, Julia proved spritely could be sexy when she played a miniature fairy with some big love for Robin Williams, tackling the role of Tinkerbell in Steven Spielberg's live-action Peter Pan flick, 'Hook.' We even dug the pointy ears.

Lovin' Lovett
Following 'Hook,' Roberts faded from the spotlight, accepting only one role -- a brief cameo in 2002's 'The Player' -- in the next two years. That role would prove an important one, however: Julia met musician Lyle Lovett while filming, and they were married in 1993. They divorced 21 months later, but they sure made an interesting-looking pair while it lasted.

Vanity Fair Lady
Julia made a much ballyhooed return to the big screen in 1993, starring opposite Denzel Washington in the adaptation of John Grisham's 'The Pelican Brief.' In anticipation, she appeared in the October 1993 issue of Vanity Fair, talking about her sabbatical, dishing on her marriage and setting the pages on fire with a Herb Ritts pictorial that ranks as one of her steamiest photo shoots to date. Seriously, order yourself a copy if you can.

'Friends' & Lovers
Roberts made a rare jaunt into TV with a 1996 episode of 'Friends,' playing Susie, a gorgeous middle-school classmate of Chandler's (Matthew Perry) whom he once ridiculed. In the ep, she exacts her revenge by leaving Chandler in a restaurant bathroom wearing women's underwear and nothing else. In real life, Julia and Perry dated for a short time, but she never pulled the same stunt -- not that we know of, anyway.

theoldmeatman at 7:17PM on Mar 20th 2009
She is a wonderful actress who has played some great roles. Anyone who is negative about her looks has a problem. She does what she does because she is a very pretty girl. Because she rarely if in fact has ever been page six or tabloid fodder shows the class and dignity she carries herself with. I am a fan of a classy, attractive woman who is a tribute to her profession.

It's nice to see that you have blind and stupid people saying they don't see anything in Julia Roberts. She is not only beautiful, but her mouth and everything else about her is beautiful. Some people are just jealous and can't just say she is beautiful and a fantastic actress.

she is so hot
Taylor at 7:50PM on Mar 21st 2009
Haha, all you putting Julia Roberts down sound like really stupid, uneducated people. Very much unlike Julia Roberts, I might add.
And just because you think she has a big mouth, she shouldn't be successful? Shallow, much?
I personally think she is beautiful. Not only physically, but in personality also. She is a hard-working, professional, and classy women that any girl in her right mind would look up to.
If you don't like her, why are you looking her up anyway?

I also don't understand the attraction. Also, she was caught parking in a diabled zone while her husband went into the 7/11. I guess she thinks she is better than the rest of us. I can't stand the woman!
Kris at 2:18PM on Mar 22nd 2009
Could somebody please tell Julia Roberts to wipe that phony big silly grin off of her face?
tyler02 at 2:19PM on Mar 22nd 2009
Julia Roberts: Don't like her - never did. Just something about her,
I have similar feelings about Diane Keaton. I loved Betty Davis, Loretta Young,
Kate Hepburn, Audrie Hepburn, Barbara Stanwyck, Claudette Colbert, Lauren
Bacall, Myrna Loy, Jean Arthur, Ginger Rogers, and even Marilyn Monroe.
Now there were some actresses. No doubt about it.
That's my opinion and my opinion is the only one that counts - to me. ha ha !

How can you hate someone you don't know? This has always been a mystery to me when i hear people say this. you hate Julia Roberts, did she steal something from you? did she take your husband away? Maybe she ran over one of your children with a grocery basket while you were in walmart looking for a new blouse or something to wear to the bowling alley.for God sakes think before you the word hate.

kyle at 2:37PM on Mar 22nd 2009
Enough of her already. She is not that hot to look at. She bombed on stage in New York City. Another over paid NO talent actor.
Glenn Nelson at 2:42PM on Mar 22nd 2009
Ms. Roberts lights up a room with her appearance. She is "old Hollywood" class and talent. Charming, beautiful and well, Julia, if you ever get tired of Danny, I am ready.
Shirley at 2:49PM on Mar 22nd 2009
