The USS Enterprise was built at the orbiting San Francisco space drydock, and was first commanded by Capt. Chris Pike (the Trek lore on the quiz is incorrect)
Lord_Malachite at 1:44AM on May 9th 2009
No, it was first commanded by Captain Robert April. Christopher Pike was the second captain, and Kirk was the third.
Jeremy at 2:34AM on May 9th 2009
First, Captain April is not canon...that was introduced in the animated series, but due to unpopularity with it they kept Pike as the first captain...second...The Enterprise was PARTIALLY constructed on Earth so they could recreate earth's gravity on the ship.
Ben T at 11:04PM on May 9th 2009
Robert T April was the first captain of the Enterprise, Pike was the second...

Some of the questions are too technical about the behind the seens movie stuff and if
your not a cimiea nut you wouldn't know them.
I did good on most of the typical questions about the charectors that I knew some of the secondary charectors no one knows them.

What a crock. Questions about actors who were inspired by star trek? Comments made by actors about star trek? Who did or didn't make a certain role? I've been watching and reading star trek since it was shown on network tv (and yeah I was only 6 at the timem but I remeber) and this just doesn't cut it. Ask about episodes or quotes from the series or movies, not about someone who didn't make a role and then who posed nude at some later date...

The question about Whoopi is actually important for the history of Star Trek. Everyone should know that it was ground-breaking for its time. The first "real" role for an African-American and the first interracial kiss on prime time television.
And if you don't know about the controversy over Spock's ears, shame on you.
I agree that question of the wannabe Vulcan is uncalled for though.
However, it wasn't an actor making the quote, it was JJ Abrams the director of the new ST. You don't find that interesting? I hope he likes his own ST.

Amen to that!

what kind of sorry excuse for a trek quiz is this?
debra at 4:29PM on May 9th 2009
word -- no trekkie wrote this quiz
EEMILL at 8:30PM on May 12th 2009
DORKS! ALL OF YOU!!! SHATNER SAID IT BEST, "GET A LIFE"!
Reed at 5:21PM on May 9th 2009
Wow,I did not know that trek fans would get so upset over a quiz.As William Shatner once said "get a life".
selv at 10:32PM on May 9th 2009
Actually if you read the novel "ENTERPRISE" it is established that George Kirk "Kirk's Father" was the first captain of the Enterprise

Why not ask real questions, like did Kirsti Alley really shave her head for the part? Was that Kirsty or some other actress? How do you spell Kirsty Alley?
zacUpquark at 12:37AM on May 11th 2009
Bjo Trimble came up with "Tiberius" off the cuff at a convention Q & A, and as "the Ultimate Fan" it ended up in the animated like a year later.

Far Out and Down To Earth at the same time, they truly took Star Trek from the 60's into the 21st century. Not ony di i love it as a long time Trek Fan, but people who would normaly never even watch Star Trek, like my sister in law, were totally excited about this movie.
Great acting, and story line, cool effects without going overboard all around just a really
well made true Star Trek Movie and a step bejound.
Loved It!

Actually Robert April was the first captian of the Enterprise, as per Gene Roddenberry and the Star Trek Encyclopedia. I'm not a nerd or anything....
