'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs' hasn't fared so well in the critic's department -- registering considerably worse reviews than its two predecessors -- but something tells us your kids won't mind so much. The opening day box office returns tell us the same. 'Ice Age 3' debuted with an estimated $14 million, a fiery start that sank the red-hot 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,' which earned only $10 mil Wednesday.
In the latest "historical" animated adventure, Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo) stumbles into an underworld inhabited by dinosaurs, and it's up to the rest of the gang to rescue him. Aside from Sid's daunting dilemma, Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) tackle domestic woes, Diego (Denis Leary) suffers a mid-life tiger crisis, and the squirrely Scrat continues the never-ending chase after his beloved acorn (leaving children across America in stitches in the process).

As usual the "critics" who can't do anything creative blew it. Ice Age 3 was actually as good as if not better than 1 and 2. It was by far the funniest. And at the theatre where I saw it the many children under 10 were literally rolling in the aisles.

I agree. Critics have always hated kid movie sequels, so they simply go in looking for the negatives. In my opinion, the third surpassed the second in everyway, and is almost better than the original. The plot was good, the comedy was great, and it was actually beleivable.

I saw the movie and felt bad that the kids have crap like this - no wonder there is attention deficit problems with kids - after watching it I was shocked to see there was a person indicated as a writer on the credits. The goon is probably walking around on all fours and will be nominated for an award. Wow what a degrdation in the flicks - 99.9% waste of time that's giving it a rating of good watching for about 60 seconds. Give a kid a hug - take'em for icecream and make up a story and that's worth 1000x more than the crappy flick.

Can't believ we had to spend 11.25 for a kids movie. Geez by the time you get popcorn you are wqell over 60 bucks...

I loved it. To all those who are dissing it, Grow up. It is for little kids. Why do you have to take everything so literal and personal. Its a movie for crying out loud. People mistake movies for real life. Deal with it. This movie was Awesome and I will see it again and again and then I will buy the dvd when it comes out.
