The new movie 'Julie & Julia' is based on two memoirs: that of Julia Child (Meryl Streep), who moved to Paris as a diplomat's wife and became one of the most influential food writers of our time; and that of blogger Julie Powell (Amy Adams), who, bored with her cubicle job, decided to cook her way through Child's 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' over the course of one year.Though 'Julie & Julia' tells the stories of these two women, what it's really about -- and what has foodies everywhere excited for its arrival -- is food. Cooking it. Eating it. Enjoying it as one of life's greatest pleasures. When Streep, as Child, goes into ecstasy over her first bite of fish in a Parisian restaurant, we know exactly how she feels.
In between salivating over Julia Child's boeuf Bourguignon and sympathizing with Julie Powell's kitchen meltdowns, we started daydreaming about our favorite movie food scenes. And then we ate a whole roast chicken. Bon appetit! -- By Patricia Chui

The instructions on how to eat a fig in "Women in Love" are the most erotic food scene in any film. Take a look!
And what about the scene where Woody Allen is trying to show how to cook a lobster in "Annie Hall?"

9 1/2 weeks? You're kidding?? Babette's Feast is number 1 hands down, because that woman who has been preparing "ale brot" for who knows how many years, finally, after winning the French lottery gets to make "un vrais diner francais". Between the linen and crystal, and the different wines with every course, the whole experience is exquisite. Tortilla Soup is also one of my favorites. Again, showing how important food is in life. Mexican music, mexican food (no tex-mex) AND Hector Elizondo...yummy!
