And after the film's impressive – and unexpected – $37.6M opening weekend, we wanted to share what Moviefone users thought of it. You may be surprised to discover, with opinions ranging from utter disgust to the highest of accolades, that Moviefone users are cruisin' on the same wavelength as the critics.Dentaworld5 dropped by the 'Inglourious Basterds' Moviefone page early this morning and shared his praise of Tarantino's Nazi-killing flick, "Really great movie. Acting was excellent." That user wasn't alone; there were many who approved of the film and the talent behind it. RRRhonda9 urges others to have a second look, "Excellent movie. Tautly written, acted with precision...I feel sorry for those people who didn't 'get' it. Go back and see it again. It was powerful film making...and I loved it." Genesis104 proclaims that 'Basterds' is "Possibly the best QT movie EVER!"
Not everyone hopped on the 'Inglourious' bandwagon. Mgcookie3 denounced 'Basterds'' gruesome elements by saying, "This movie was so disturbing!" And jkwhite52, unimpressed, griped, "2 hours and 33 minutes I will never get back. Horrible rewrite of history. Very slow moving, very messy."

I saw this opening day, I have always love QT films, and I think this one was definately one of his best! Great acting, lots of action! And I love all the gruesome details! Way to go Quentin!

This movie was great! A friend told me he walked out...glad I didn't listen to him. Each scene was meticulously scripted and acted with complete precision. The two and a half hours flew by...Pitt pulled another great character out of his *ss and the actor...Waltz (the Jew Hunter) has an Oscar on the way.
Anybody who doesn't like this movie just never saw a really...and I mean REALLY well done film before. Right up there with The Pope Of Greenwich Village in my book. Pure perfection.

I was on edge of my seat the whole time and covering my eyes through a lot of it as there was a lot of blood and guts but I thought it was very well filmed and it definetly was not boring. Kept my interest till the end.

i think qt is creative innovative and masterful director. that said, this last effort was just too pushed together, our heroes and antiheroes were fleshed out but there was truly no contrast. i think brad pitt role was the problem. mr. pitt is a great character actor and this role called for him to be a bafoon broadly drawn and comedic in his excesses. it just didn't work out that way. and that i think that proved to be a problem and this film fell flat.

I read a lot of pro and con before I saw it so I didn't go in with high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised, but then I like QT's films. This is quintessential QT at his best. I especially liked Chris Waltz's performance as Col. Landa.

Simply the best movie of the year. A sure Oscar winner, and more than one. I loved this movie although I am old enough to know the dates don't jive.

As Publicity Director of the US Third Army during its occupation of Germany, I was spellbound by this imaginative, spectacular motion picture. It will win an Academy Award (best actor) abd should be in running for box office records.

The best movie I've seen in 10 years.I've seen it 3 times.A satyrical fiction of Nazi occupied France.The acting was superp.The costumes and sets were original and the ending was spectacular.
It's worth every penny!!!!!

Love QT's work, this one definitely one of his best! Too bad the end result was only fiction, very well done, 10 out of 10.
