If director Christopher Nolan's 'Memento' and 'The Dark Knight' got together and made a baby, it might look like his latest film 'Inception,' which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is about ... well, actually, no one really knows what the heck it's about. Warner Bros. announced the project in February, vaguely calling it "a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind" (anyone who has a clue what that means gets a gold star), and it's been shrouded in secrecy ever since. But now that the teaser trailer for 'Inception' has hit, there are bound to be some answers, right? Eh, not so much. The eerie, mysterious and extremely compelling one-minute clip does little to shed light on the movie's plot, but does a whole hell of a lot to leave us scratching our heads. The trailer features shots of DiCaprio looking alternately sullen and scared enough that he might lose control of his bodily functions. It also showcases an extremely cool fight sequence that flouts the laws of gravity and transpires in a hallway that appears to tilt back and forth at random. And the video offers its biggest clue with a boldface line that reads, "Your mind is the scene of the crime." (Watch the trailer now, then keep reading below for our take on the trippy clip.)
Hmmm ... so what does that all mean? Well, aside from the whole "architecture of the mind" spiel, we've been able to piece together a few tidbits from around the Interwebs. DiCaprio stars as a "CEO type" spearheading an elite force with a super-secret mission; Marion Cotillard is his wife; Ellen Page is reportedly a grad student and Leo's loyal sidekick; Joseph Gordon-Levitt (one of the guys fighting in the hallway) and Tom Hardy play DiCaprio's business associates; and Ken Watanabe takes on the role of the villain. Combining this info with what's depicted in the trailer, we're thinking DiCaprio's "elite force" could be tasked with somehow planting or stealing memories or thoughts from people's minds. Then again, we could be way off. Guess we'll have to wait until the movie hits theaters on July 16, 2010, to find out.

Hmm it looks kind of like a cross between the Matrix and the movie The Cell with Jennifer Lopez and Vincent D'Ofrio. There are other similar movies out there about a game that has a virtual world. We shall see if it is a fresh take on things

DONNA, IN THE MOVIE, WHEN DREAMS MAY COME, I ACTUALLY HAD THE DARK SCENES HAPPEN TO ME DURING THE BIRTH OF MY DAUGHTER.. DOCS SAID I DIED FOR 2 MINUTES..I KNOW I WENT TO HELL AND SAW JUST WHAT ROBIN WILLIAMS SAW WHERE ALL THE HEADS WERE AND THE MOANING AND GROANING...HORRIBLE.. IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER..ONLY THIS HAPPENED IN 1972 WAY BEFORE THE MOVIE. WHEN I SAW THAT MOVIE IT LET ME KNOW THAT SOMEONE ELSE HAD PROBABLY SEEN THE SAME THING I HAD..I CAN SAY THIS...HELL REALLY DOES EXIST..NEVER WANT TO GO THERE AGAIN..

Umm... What Dreams May Come is a movie loosely based on Dante's Inferno. I doubt the screenwriter had the same visions you did, its based on Dante....

Well, it appears he is on a plane that has no gravity or it seems to be a force of gravity in a weird way. It doesn't look creepy but just mysterious. If it is suppose to be creepy in anyway then sorry; I didn't see it. I will be seeing this movie; definitely. It is a sci-fi so it is kind of like a new version of the twilight zone maybe. Cool!!

Hey Christopher, Timothy Leary called, said you're cut off.

Inception is about entering peoples’ minds/dreams. A technology to do so has been developed and is done through an injection. DiCaprio and his team work to enter the minds of other characters in order to retrieve or plant information. Sort of like Dreamscape meets The Matrix and International. Other than that, the story is actually supposed to be very unique. Decaprio has been extremely selective of the roles he's been taking, so this one should be good!

...not overly blessed in the smarts Dept. are we?

The first Matrix was good...the second was a little confusing and the third was a waste of time....but regardless, one doesn't need to be an einstein to watch a movie....there's no need to be mean

Maybe Nolan is going for a Kafka feel, maybe a mix The Trial and The Castle.
