Vaughn, Favreau & 'Couples Retreat' Cast Return to Paradise

For 'Swingers' fanatics hoping for an older Mike and Trent in paradise, 'Couples Retreat' isn't it. If anything, Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn actually switch personas. Favs plays Joey, a womanizing ex-football player, while Vaughn settles into nice-guy mode as Dave.

"It was fun seeing Vince married with kids," says Favreau, who is married himself with three kids. "My own experience is reflected most in Vince's character."

Vaughn, who seemed like a lifetime bachelor, got engaged earlier this year (to real estate agent Kyla Weber). Still, he already saw himself as playing a stable married man about three years ago when he approached his 'Swingers' co-conspirator with the concept.

"I wanted to take normal people with everyday problems and put them in an exceptional setting," Vaughn says. When Favreau began working on the script, he planned to direct. Then a little movie called 'Iron Man' came along and presented a conflict. Vaughn and Dana Fox took over the writing and Peter Billingsley stepped in to make his directorial debut. Best known for the iconic childhood role of Ralphie in 'A Christmas Story,' Billingsely has been friends with Vaughn since they appeared together 25 years ago in the CBS Schoolbreak Special 'The Fourth Man.'

Moviefone traveled to Bora Bora, the location of 'Couples Retreat,' to chat up Vaughn, Favreau and the rest of the cast (including Kristen Bell, Kristin Davis and Jason Bateman) and relive the film's most memorable moments. Jet skiing in the lagoon, feeding stingrays, and swimming with sharks: It's all part of the job, folks.
