The term "Robsessed" hasn't officially made it into the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, but chances are the screaming, fawning hordes of teenage (and sometimes older) girls who like 'Twilight' heartthrob Robert Pattinson more than a friend probably already know its meaning ... because, well, they are Rob-sessed. Loosely defined, Rob-session is "a deeply rooted obsession with Robert Pattinson spawned by his portrayal of goodhearted vampire Edward Cullen in the 'Twilight' movies and fueled by his charming smile, devastating good looks and always perfectly mussed hair."Not coincidentally, 'Robsessed' is also the name of an upcoming documentary that chronicles this phenomenon, which usually involves massive groups of devotees, all screaming and all intent on having some type of contact -- a photo, a handshake or just a sighting from 100 yards away -- with the actor every time he leaves the house.
According to Screen Daily, British distributor Revolver has picked up the rights to the doc and plans to release it on DVD in the U.K. and the U.S. in November to coincide with the bow of Pattinson's latest film, 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon.'
Will the doc offer any new insight into the Pattinson/'Twilight' craze and the mentality of those so wrapped up in it? Or is it just more eye candy aimed at turning an easy buck off the already Rob-sessed. Place your bets now.

I certainly hope he will make some revenue of the insanity that is surrounding him, as there is obviously someone else is finding a way to profit off of it. Not that he isn't interesting on his own, but it would have been even more fascinating to examine the phenomenon that happens when actors play the ideal male (or the polar opposite of it) and find themselves the center of a screaming throng of adulation.
