The characters in the movie are NOT the characters in the book. Where are Bernard ? Emil ? Goat Boy ? Moishe? I am disappointed that Sendak did not require Jonze to re-create the creatures we know and love.

My opinion is that no matter if they would have made the movie exactly as the book was written, they probably would not have met our expectations and we would have been disappointed by it. I loved the movie but I love the book a lot more. Our imagination is much greater when we read.

I think that the movie was awesome. It wasn't exactly like the book, but what movie is? I recommend seeing it.
