'Twilight: New Moon' Soundtrack: What's on It?

Twilight New MoonBe still, our indie hearts.

In the year's biggest 'Twilight' event thus far -- the hugest, of course, being the can't-come-quickly-enough Nov. 20 release of the sequel 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' -- the eagerly anticipated 'New Moon' soundtrack has arrived both in stores and online.

And it's loaded to the fangs with original tracks from some of the hottest indie-rock acts on the planet, including the Killers, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and indie poster boys Death Cab for Cutie, who perform the album's flagship single 'Meet Me on the Equinox.'

Much more indie-oriented than the album for the original 'Twilight,' the 'New Moon' soundtrack is an intensely listenable work of sheer marketing brilliance. Including artists such as Yorke and Grizzly Bear, whose fans tend to be older and more mature than the average Twihard, could attract a new audience to the franchise that previously thought the teen-oriented 'Twilight' saga too juvenile for their discerning indie tastes. On the flip side, the album should serve to introduce the vampire series' stalwart teenage fan base to a new crop of bands that wouldn't mind selling them their albums.

So 'Twilight' gets more fans. Musicians sell more records. And teenage 'Twilight' loyalists get to listen to some seriously good tunes. Everyody wins!

Sink your teeth into the 'Twilight: New Moon' track list below:

'Meet Me on the Equinox' - Death Cab for Cutie
'Friends' - Band of Skulls
'Hearing Damage' - Thom Yorke
'Possibility' - Lykke Li
'A White Demon Love Song' - The Killers

'Roslyn' - Bon Iver & St. Vincent
'Done All Wrong' - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
'Monsters' - Hurricane Bells
'The Violet Hour' - Sea Wolf
'Shooting the Moon' - OK Go
'Slow Life [with Victoria Legrand]' - Grizzly Bear

'New Moon [The Meadow]' - Alexandre Desplat
