Another year, another 'Saw' movie. With Halloween fast approaching, 'Saw VI' -- that's right, the sixth 'Saw' film in as many years -- hacks its way into theaters today, almost surely destined to once again take the box office crown (unless, of course, 'Paranormal Activity' has anything to say about it).The franchise is as reliable as the Energizer Bunny and as comforting to its devoted, blood-and-guts/torture-loving fan base as a warm cup of hot cocoa. Judging by the smattering of reviews out there (and by the news that the film is so awesomely violent that it's been slapped with an X rating in Spain and relegated to screening in porno theaters there), the fan-friendly franchise's sixth go-around more than makes up for a fifth installment that left even Jigsaw's most diehard aficionados a bit puzzled. Check out reviews below.
The New York Times: "Has there ever been a movie franchise as user-friendly as the 'Saw' films? 'Saw VI,' the latest installment, may have a new director (Kevin Greutert), but the writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, collaborating on their third straight 'Saw,' make sure it's as customer service-oriented as ever."
The Hollywood Reporter: "There's not really much to say anymore about the 'Saw' series, which has found its formula and is sticking with it. ... It might well be time for a creative rebooting; the freshness, if not the viscera, has begun to strongly diminish."
Entertainment Weekly: "'Saw VI' is the thinnest, draggiest, and most tediously preachy of the 'Saw' films. It's the first one that's more or less consumed by backstory -- which is to say, it's one of those hollow franchise placeholders in which far too many fragments from the previous sequels keep popping up in flashbacks."

Scariest movie moments
Cinematical: "The latest installment in the 'Saw' franchise appears to fulfill all of the demands of its audience and then some, making it a worthy and faithful entry in a franchise which at this point seems expressly designed to document people dying in increasingly inventive ways."
FEARnet: "I still really like this series. ... It's not just that the 'Saw' franchise has now transformed into a horror geek's version of 'Lost' or 'Heroes' or 'Dallas,' it's that each flick is composed of two halves that complement one another rather effectively: Not to be obvious here, but we've got a rough and gritty horror series that's wedged (rather comfortably) with a basic but compelling 'cop story.'"
Bloody Disgusting: "While the film has its share of issues (mostly in the acting department) and other technical flaws ... in the end, 'Saw VI' is faithful to the franchise and the twist/finale are 100% satisfying. Saw fans WILL walk out of the theater with their fists in the air with the feeling that they've reclaimed their beloved franchise."

I am utterly surprised and annoyed at the fact that this dog poop of a series is still continuing...
I guess there are bunch of retards out there who support and promote this kind of crap to be made again and again.....sad.

the SAW movies are like Playboy. The images are so awesome that you can't really care about the words! So those of you who take things like the SAW movies too seriously I say get a life and unless you think you can do better, SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a great movie. Those going in and expecting a more gruesome show than the last 5 will be disappointed of course bc it wasn't AS gross as the previous 5 except for here and there which was very limited. The begining was GREAT! People clapping showed they began it well. The ending was GREAT. I can say that I am mOre into the story concept which was really what was provided on VI. Can't wait til next Halloween to see what happens w certain people. But I think there won't be many more SAW movies.. I say next should b the last it seems only right; if they stretch it to 8 and so on the movie won't have ts original theme and ithink it'll be all about payback & a chase which has nothing to do with the original theme. But saw vi was GREAT in my eyes

These movies are just as stupid as the people that watch them. Everyone who sees this movie and makes it- get a life. Torturing people? Seriously? How is that a feel-good movie? It honestly makes no sense at all, and I am so tired of seeing all of these pathetic previews everywhere. It disgusts me. What a waste of time to see a movie as wretched as this.

I think you are missing the point... whoever said that this was a "Feel Good" movie?
Mike Abid at 9:39PM on Oct 25th 2009

cricts have ot understand that the reason for the flash back clips is ot understand everything and how everything comes to be. this movie saw 6 was by far one of its most bloodest and it kept you on the edge of your seats. if you never seen any of the saws watch them all and then go see saw 6 you will understand everything.

Better this series continue than HP or Twilight...
Mattson at 1:09PM on Oct 26th 2009
This was the final film. Tobin Bell signed to do 6 films before the third was even in production. I like these movies, but they should have never stretched it past 3... The third ended with a feeling of " what now, what about that little girl and her father?" so you knew there COULD be another. However the important cast characters, specifically Jiggsaw, were dead. It was a perfect ending... But no, like all of the halfwits who write movies, they had to exploit it and continue pushing it because Hollywood lacks direction and originality and has for a VERY long time.

this isn't the final film saw VII comes out 10/29/10 and it will be in 3d
Waste of Time at 5:50PM on Oct 26th 2009
