Is Marlon Wayans the new Christian Bale or Taylor Lautner, gaining and losing heaps of weight for roles?"I was 195 [pounds] on 'G.I. Joe.,'" Wayans told Moviefone at Thursday's Ante Up for Africa event in San Manuel, Calif., to benefit pal Don Cheadle's charity for Darfur. "Right now, I am 167. I am trying to get down to 145 for 'White Chicks 2.' Getting skinny!"
Wayans played the slender and muscular Ripcord in last year's 'G.I. Joe,' and will next be seen as white woman, albeit one in lots of makeup, in the sequel to the 2004 comedy 'White Chicks.'
Besides losing weight, Wayans has been busy writing jokes for the script. He has penned dialogue for his other franchise movie series 'Scary Movie' and TV's 'In Living Color.'
"It's never easy," Wayans says. "A lot of writing, creating, and losing weight. Making jokes, that's a tough life. Trying to think of jokes that are going to make the whole theater laugh, every theater across the country and world, telling that one joke. It's hard, but it's what we do. I have been able to feed my kids, send them to a good private school, and let them get a good education. They are doing multiplication in like the first and second grade. They better do something, so I can retire and spend their money."
Along with losing lots of weight, Wayans may soon get the chance to flex his acting chops in the anticipated biopic of comedian Richard Pryor, a film that is being produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison, and of which is Wayans is reportedly in talks to play Pryor.

Very dangerous to loose weight and gain it back like this. This is one way to end up in the hospital a lot as you age. Should not screw with mother nature like this.
Brandn at 5:30PM on Nov 3rd 2009
"Loose" weight? What are you talking about? Do you mean LOSE weight?
RJW at 2:48PM on Nov 3rd 2009
I saw the G.I. Joe movie and it was lousy. I'm not blaming Mr. Wayans, because it was just a bad movie all around. Bad script, bad choice of actors, bad story line. Wayans' style as an actor did not fit the character he was playing, and that goes the same for some of the other actors in the movie. It was campy in a lot of ways, and the material did not fit the characters. I watched the G.I. Joe cartoons when I was younger, and the cartoons were a lot better than the movie was. I hope they don't make a sequel, or if they do, they create a better story and take it more seriously.

I despise Marlon Wayans and his brothers. They are the most homophobic lot of "comedians" around. I have yet to see a film produced, written or directed by any of that clan that doesn't include a highly insulting, offensive, stereotypical, and based on the characteristics of most gay men I know, I will add inaccurate portrayal of gay men. From their infamous "Men on Film" skits on "In Living Color" to the incredibly stupid "A Low Down Dirty Shame".

LOL! Men on Film... now that was good stuff, I had forgotten about it. Time for da youtubez.
gr8bsn at 3:20PM on Nov 3rd 2009
They're making a sequel? Kill me now please.
Dan at 3:39PM on Nov 3rd 2009
Get used to it, JB. The same way you look down upon people that are incestuous or into other weird sexual prefences is the same way people will always look at gays. There is nothing normal or above being made fun about the gay lifestyle.
David at 4:42PM on Nov 3rd 2009
Nice try Dan... the little anti-gay dig. Being gay is actually very "normal" to me and to all gay men and women. Being str8 is not "normal" to a gay person. Normal is what you are comfortable with and born with, being gay as an example. Your comment just makes you sound dated and undereducated.
J.T. at 5:26PM on Nov 3rd 2009
I think Dan may need some counseling concerning people different from him. Embrace yo gay bros. dude!! We all God's children!! They are normal and there is always wickedness in each group within society, so don't be judging a whole group based on one person. Like I don't think all us men are closed minded hate mongering idiots, just because you posted what you did! Think brother before you speak. The tounge can speak life or death. Speak life my brother.
JB at 7:29PM on Nov 3rd 2009
Guess what, Dan: I respect your opinion of gay people --even if I think it is one based on prejudice, homophobia and ignorance. I not only respect your opinion but would argue for your right to express it, just as I would argue for the right of the Wayans to depict demeaning and stereotypical images of gay men. But in the same breath that I'd defend your and their rights of free speech and freedom of expression, I shout as loud as possible my opposition to that homophobic crap because it is detrimental to my safety and happiness in this society. That would be me expressing my opinion, exercising my right of free speech. Would that be all good with you?
Dan at 2:39PM on Nov 6th 2009
David, homosexuality is normal to a gay person the same as incest is normal to an incestuous person. That doesn't make either "normal" in the biological sense. Although biologically, incest is actually closer to normal than homosexuality or bestiality is.
As for those of you saying I should "embrace my gay bros", I don't have anything against gay people as people. As long as you're a good person I don't care if you're into sex with trees, horses, or even members of the same sex, but don't expect me to support your supposed right to do it with anything you want to just because you want to.

SO TALENTED...WHITE CHICKS REALLY GOT ME LAUGHING OUT LOUD. LOVED IT AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUAL!
nicole at 3:47PM on Nov 3rd 2009
JB...they are not homophobic. They pretty much make fun of everyone and everthing from white people to ghetto black people, and all in between. Non of their movies has just been about the stereotypical gay man.
tykete at 3:49PM on Nov 3rd 2009
OK, black guys in white face as chicks??? Try that with a white guy in black face -- OMG you racist, bigoted no good whitey.
cc at 7:30PM on Nov 3rd 2009
Remember "Soul Man" with C.Thomas Howell? White man in black face. Not racist, just funny. People need to quit making everything about race.
tykete at 12:42PM on Nov 4th 2009
CC - I agree with you 100%, I was making a point. Now there is an uproar about a white Dallas Cowboy cheerleader dressing up as Little Kim for Halloween, give me a break
Christy at 3:48PM on Nov 3rd 2009
How is it not racist to make a film called "white chicks" when if I made a film that said "black chicks" I would be called a racist? Shame on you Mr Waynes for the double standard. You are exactly the problem with racism today...
Ray at 6:55PM on Nov 3rd 2009
You have to laugh about how it is socially acceptable for black people to put on make-up and portray white people. But look at some recent models in the news when the photo shoot had them putting on make-up and portraying black people. Why doesn't the good Rev. Al or NAACP say anything about this type of moive?
personalityplus at 4:07PM on Nov 3rd 2009
well ya'll gots to be a skinny white chick not a fat white chick! I acts you now who wanna see da fat white chick? but hey what abouts the fat black chcik or the skinny black chick can dat dere beez a mobie?
