What's in a name? A lot of money ... if you can tie your movie's title into one that's a smash hit. According The Hollywood Reporter, the independent horror film 'Walking Distance' will have it's name changed to 'Experimental Activity' to cash in on the recent success of its star Katie Featherston,, who also stars in this fall's micro-budgeted sleeper hit 'Paranormal Activity.'
David Jackson, president of Showcase Entertainment, a distributor of low-budget comedies and horror films that owns international rights to 'Experimental Activity,' told the Reporter, "Clearly having the fastest-rising star in the business is a feather in the cap, but we feel the film stands on its own as a cool psychological thriller."
The film, currently in post-production, revolves around an idyllic neighborhood that harbors a dark past and even darker secrets. The "black" trailer hints at government medical experiments and alien abductions.
The movie also features Adrienne King, who appeared in the original 'Friday the 13th,' and Glenn Morshower, who appeared as a Secret Service agent on '24' and currently can be seen in 'The Men Who Stare at Goats,' which opens Friday.
