Ashley Greene Talks 'Twilight' Spoilers and Stealing Porsches

All work and no play makes Ashley Greene ... as cheerful as ever, apparently. Despite moving straight from a hectic schedule of shooting 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' six days a week to a grueling publicity tour for 'New Moon,' when I catch her by phone, Greene couldn't be happier.

"At least it's the same franchise -- not something else I'm doing where you confuse the storylines," she laughs, determined to find the silver lining on every cloud.

Greene was a relative unknown before landing the breakthrough role of Alice Cullen in 'Twilight,' a film that has undoubtedly changed her life. "You have to be very careful about saying the grass is always greener on the other side," the 22-year-old insists. "There are days when I'm like, 'I just want to sleep,' but on the other hand I go, 'I can sleep in five years!' To be getting these incredible opportunities after a year, out of nowhere, it's crazy to me."

The constant media scrutiny can be daunting, however, and Greene is the first to admit that her newfound fame comes with its share of caveats. "Everywhere you walk there is a camera and everyone you talk to there's a picture and a story," she sighs. "They're able to write these things -- especially because of the Internet, it's lightning-fast speed and then to undo the damage is nearly impossible. That part of it is a little unfair and hard to cope with, but at the end of the day I can just not look at the Internet, and just go to work and do what I love."

Although the paparazzi are a constant concern, Greene admits that the fans of 'Twilight' help to put things in perspective for her: "You've got all of these fans who love and adore what you're creating, and because of what you have portrayed, they love you and they support you too; it's kind of incredible." Reflecting on how very different her 'Twilight' experience might have been, Greene says, "You never know -- they could've hated me, and then I'd have had to say, 'Well, you're stuck with me for three years!' So I was lucky enough for them to really embrace me."

With the looming release of 'New Moon,' many fans are anxious to know how closely the movie resembles the book, since changes from the source material are always the most controversial aspect of any big-screen adaptation.

"We've stayed pretty close to the book," Greene promises. "I think the fans would have our heads if we didn't! The biggest difference is, in the book, you know that Edward is there in the back of Bella's mind and in the film you're able to portray that so that you can actually see Edward -- because I think that the fans want to see Edward ... so they definitely kept him in there!"

Greene has a much bigger role in 'New Moon' than in 'Twilight,' which the actress is obviously excited about. "They play more on the relationship between Bella and Alice," she explains. "And there's the stealing of the Porsche scene, which was fun -- up until the day [of filming] they really didn't tell me if they were gonna let me drive it or not, but they let me work with someone and do all that stuff."

'Eclipse' also promises to have some pretty epic battle scenes, and Greene reveals that the cast were allowed to do as many of their own stunts as possible without endangering themselves. "But my stunt double is from the Cirque Du Soleil," she laughs wryly, "So she's gonna look a little bit cooler doing this stuff than me! I have this bug in me now where I'm dying to do an action film."

She might get the opportunity sooner than she thinks. When asked about her future projects, Greene is undecided, "I think after we do the press tour for New Moon I'll have some time in the holidays. Probably around January I'll start looking to film something else, one if not two films," the actress muses. "It's all about finding that perfect project and finding something that's going to be a positive step forward from 'Twilight' -- I'm trying to find something I'm very passionate about."
