The official release date of 'New Moon' isn't until Friday, however last night the star studded Los Angeles premiere event transformed the City of Angels into 'Twilight' frenzy. Over the past few days, 3,000-plus fans have been gathering, some camping out, in the hopes of catching a glimpse of their favorite 'Twilight' cast members. For those fans unable to attend, they were lucky enough to watch a live streaming video provided by Myspace and USTREAM TV. More than 300,000 fans from all over the world tuned in to the live stream, hoping for a small peek at the red carpet events, which is exactly what they got -- and more.
(Moviefone's own Kim Lansing was at the premiere too -- watch our exclusive installment of Moviefone Minute at the 'New Moon' premiere now, or catch our exclusive Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Chris Weitz Unscripted interview.)
As the power trio of Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson arrived, the fans went absolutely mad, requiring police to form a barricade around them. But this didn't stop the trio from giving the fans exactly what they came for. The three got up close to the gates, shook hands, posed for pictures, showing fans those days of waiting were all worth it. "This is what you work for," Stewart said, looking at the crowd. "I don't think most people will get to experience something quite like this," said Pattinson.

'New Moon' cast members were kind enough to make their way to the live stream, ensuring that the Twi-hards tuning in wouldn't miss out on any of the premiere action. Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene were all smiles, as they both expressed a disbelief of what 'The Twilight Saga' has done for their lives and careers. "I just feel really grateful," Reed said. "I totally feel like I don't deserve this much attention. I want to tell them that I shouldn't even be in this film." Reed also mentioned that she'd be leaving for London in a few weeks to work on a new project, in which she will make her directorial debut.
Although she's not a mom in real life, Elizabeth Reaser plays the part of Esme quite well. So where does her inspiration come from? She looks to her sister Mary and mother Karen, who both played very strong roles in her life when it came to providing guidance and nurturing. As for being a part of the phenomenon known as 'Twilight', she expresses that it's been a very amazing, yet humbling experience.
'New Moon' has welcomed a new bunch of actors into the 'Twilight' family, including 15-year-old starlet Dakota Fanning, who had quite the hilarious comment on her role as Jane. "People have asked me to give them the death look," Fanning said, "but it's hard to do it on the spot."
For the 'New Moon' cast, there wasn't a doubt in mind that the premiere night was all for the fans, "We're just blessed to have a really strong fan base. I'm a fan of the books, so I know where it comes from." says Peter Facinelli.
As for the actual movie, Robert Pattinson wants the fans to know "the hype is all true, it is that good."
Moviefone is excited to feature the writing of several dedicated 'Twilight' fan bloggers to our readers. Please join us in welcoming What the Forks co-creator Betsey Denberg to the Moviefone family, and expect to find lots of cool original 'Twilight' content from her and her fellow Twihards in the coming weeks.

I never started reading until my early 30's (I'm now 32) & I started reading due to "Twilight" to say that I am a HUGE fan is an understatement, "New Moon" was better that I expected, 10 x's better than the first "Twilight" film.
