Yes, that's right, they're back. That zany 'National Lampoon's Vacation' couple Clark and Ellen Griswold (Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo) have evidently not endured enough road-trip punishment. Now they're going to be hawking HomeAway vacation rentals on a comedic ad campaign set to air during the Super Bowl on Feb. 7, 2010.Naturally, this leads us to wonder whether this confirms the rumors that we'll be punished with or treated to (depending upon your point of view) a fifth outing in the popular 'Vacation' series that followed the Griswolds' misadventures from Walley World to Europe to Vegas to their own home at Christmastime. And, if so, would the movie become one giant product placement for HomeAway?
"To this day, people ask me, 'When is the next 'Vacation' movie?" Chase told US Weekly. "So I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of seeing the Griswolds and their misadventures once again." D'Angelo piped in: "Clark and Ellen have one of the most enduring marriages ever to come out of Hollywood. I am thrilled that HomeAway is reuniting Chevy and me."
But the question is, will the fans be? Eighties nostalgia is pretty big lately. Rocky Balboa came out of retirement for a successful sixth movie. And Axel Foley should be returning for the somewhat anticipated 'Beverly Hills Cop 4.' Then again, 'War Games' and 'Lost Boys' received straight-to-DVD sequels that barely registered. But the two 'Vacation' stars have been keeping busy -- Chase has found a good home on NBC's popular, snarky 'Community,' and D'Angelo has had a recurring role in 'Entourage' and appeared in 'The House Bunny' -- plus it would be interesting to see how screwed up the Griswolds' kids turned out to be.
For now we're happy to see Clark and Ellen Griswold come back into our living rooms. Whether we want 90 more minutes of their shenanigans depends on how stoked we are by the ad.

CHEVY - We will not forget the cruel and personal attacks that you have supported against Sarah Palin. My family and I have lost all respect and interest in anything you say or do. And we take the opportunity to tell others about your comments, most of whom entirely agree with us. I hope your movie is a lukewarm flop. You've alienated half of America.

I agree! Your statement that you hope the media "destroys" Sarah Palin is something we regular ticket-buying Americans will never forget. It was cruel and uncalled for. My family could absolutely care less about you and your work because of it. We hope your work is deemed a failure like you are. Your movie will just give us more opportunity to remind others about your true nature.

You're a loser Chevy. Sarah has done so much for the citizens of her state, and you've done little more than act stupid. Look at your latest tv commercial about that new phone, all you do is pretend you're retarded by not pusing he buttons properly the dropping it. My family won't forget your comments against Sarah Palin either. You're cruel, stupid, and not in touch with all of us, the silent conservative hard-working majority. Well, we're not going to be silent any more. Jerk.

I completely agree with the comments that call you out on your mean, karma-crushing statements against Sarah Palin. She's just like the normal folks who play by the rules and follow what they preach. You on the other hand, are just a vindictive has been. How dare you wish upon anyone that the media destroy them just because they don't believe as you do.
