Peter Jackson Says Tintin Movie is Finished

Peter JacksonStephen Spielberg's adventure film Tintin is finished, but it will take another two years of post-production work before it hits our screens.

Producer Peter Jackson told the BBC: "Tintin is great. It's made. The movie is cut together and now [we] are turning it into a fully-rendered film... So the movie, to some degree, exists in a very rough state."

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn needs computer-animation work to turn it into a 3D film. Jackson said having films in 3D "only adds to the experience", but complained: "The only thing I get annoyed about is the image being a little dull. It does feel like you're looking at the movie with sunglasses on. But literally, that could just be about getting brighter bulbs in the projectors."

Secret of the Unicorn is the first in a proposed Tintin trilogy and will feature the voice of Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell as the intrepid Belgian journalist.

Jackson has just finished working on The Lovely Bones film, which had its Royal gala premiere last night. He's also currently revisiting JRR Tolkien's world by adapting The Hobbit for the big screen, after previous success with the Lord Of The Rings films.
