Woody Allen to Make Carla Bruni a Movie Star

Carla BruniWoody Allen has offered Carla Bruni - supermodel turned singer and wife of the French president - a chance to become a star on the big screen.

Allen requested Bruni appears in his next film during a visit to Paris in June. Speaking on television last night France's first lady said: "Woody Allen kindly asked me not to do a film with anyone else before him."

She didn't give much away about the role intended for her but explained: "If anything concrete ever comes of it, it would be a great experience for me."

Italian beauty Bruni continued: "I go into everything blindly, or I'd never do anything at all." This statement is backed up by the fact she married French president, Sarkozy, just two months after meeting him at a dinner party.

Who knows, naked shots might not even be out of the question as a nude photograph of Bruni taken in 1993 was sold only yesterday for €6,000 (£5,400).

"I am not an actress at all," she admitted on Canal+ television. "Maybe I'll be completely hopeless, but I can't miss an opportunity like this one in my life. When I'm a grandmother, I'd like to be able to say I made a film with Woody Allen."

Carla will join the impressive list of female superstars who have featured in Allen's movies over the years, including Scarlett Johansson, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore, Mira Sorvino and his former partner Mia Farrow.
