Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' Hits DVD January 26

Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' hits DVD on January 26Michael Jackson fans, get ready to moonwalk to the closest electronics store. Sony has announced that it will release the posthumous MJ concert documentary 'This Is It' on DVD and Blu-ray on Jan. 26, 2010.

While many expected the film -- which has raked in $71 million domestically since bowing in theaters on Oct. 28, to hit shelves in time for the holiday season -- the Hollywood Reporter suggests that the studio has delayed the release in the hopes that shoppers will use gift cards to purchase the disc.

The film chronicles Jackson's preparation for his comeback concert, which had been scheduled to kick off in London this past summer before the legendary pop star died of cardiac arrest on June 25. It features a rare behind-the-scenes look at Jackson culled from over 100 hours of footage and includes scenes of the pop icon rehearsing a collection of his old and new songs.

The DVD and Blu-ray versions of 'This Is It' are expected to include two mini-documentaries, and the Blu-ray includes two versions of Jackson's classic music videos 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Thriller.'

The DVD version is expected to retail for $28.95 and the Blu-ray for $39.95. There is also a Playstation version of 'This Is It' planned, which will cost $24.95.
