What's Hot on Inside TV: Lautner Does 'SNL,' Eccleston Imagines Lennon and a McConaughey Gets Animated

No time to check out the latest TV news? The good folks over at Inside TV have all the scoops right here! Suicide! Poisoning! Breast implants! And, more importantly, when to start camping out for Taylor Lautner's appearance on SNL.

'Saturday Night Live's' December lineup of hosts includes cinema's sexiest werewolf, Taylor Lautner, and the always sexy (but merely mortal) James Franco.

Imagine this: One-time Dr. Who Christopher Eccleston, fresh off his turn as the villainous Destro in 'G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,' will play John Lennon in 'Naked Lennon,' a biography for BBC Four.

'Rooster Tales,' an animated series based on the life of Matthew McConaughey's even more colorful brother, Mike "Rooster" McConaughey, has sparked a bidding war between several networks, with Fox winning out. We're hoping for appearances by his son, named, we kid you not, Miller Lyte McConaughey.

Monk is down! In the first part of the (sniff) series finale, the beloved OCD detective gets closure on the death of his wife, but collapses after realizing he's been slowly poisoned.

Just when you thought 'Desperate Housewives' Katherine Mayfair couldn't get any more crazy over losing Mike, she goes ahead and stabs herself after he coldly tells her he wished she were Susan the whole time he was with her. Ouch! Catch the clip here.

Speaking of Christmas, set your DVRs for
'Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special,' which will air on Sun., Dec. 13. Oprah Winfrey will do a televised sit-down interview with President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle, her first since his inauguration.

Pity poor
Jay Leno. It seems that viewers would rather watch anything, including whatever's on their DVR, than the white-haired host.

Regis Philbin isn't the only morning-show host going under the knife. Co-host Kelly Ripa says she's going to get breast implants.

How is Aunjanue Ellis joining 'The Mentalist, as "the alluring and utterly hard-as-nails new head of the California Bureau of Investigation" good news for '24' fans? Because she'll free up Gregory Itzin (Virgil Minelli) to return as weaselly former President Logan on the Fox action drama.
