The two stars live up to the "schmuck" moniker with a barrage of obnoxious antics. If Paul's faux French scene or Steve's embarrassing Little League story don't make you crack a smile, the "maudlin face dance" and its antidote "happy face dance" are sure to leave you laughing. If that's not enough, keep watching as Paul learns the high price of comedy after his repeated drinking gag backfires leaving him feeling waterlogged by the end of the show. (What, no spit take?)
'Dinner for Schmucks' Fan Questions
The following questions, submitted by fans like you, were asked during this Unscripted.
-
Paul:'Dinner for Schmucks' is based on the French film 'The Dinner Game.' Can you recreate a scene from the movie in the original French language?
-
Steve:What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you at a party or event?
-
Paul:Pretend you are back in high school and you and Steve are the best yell-leaders in the SM West Viking Drama Club. Could you do a little thespian themed cheer for us?
-
Paul:Your dancing skills have been featured in digital shorts, films and on 'The Daily Show.' Does one have to demand the dancing or does it happen organically?

I'm guessing that years of not being promoted to top french fry salter at the local fast food joint has made you so bitter. How sad for you.

Well Lita, I'm with Paul...even if it means working in a fast food place. There have GOT to be more laughs behind the counter there. (Although with MY luck you'd be my first customer and would be laughing at the thought of the slaughtered cows that went into the burgers. Only someone that warped could possibly think this crap is funny.)

AAAAAAAaaaaaaagggggghhhhhh! If I hammered a spike into my skull I'd laugh more. Make it sto

Wow when I see articles like this and that these two actually have a fan base, I think Zaney...Slapstick and wonder why anyone could remotely suggest that somehow television is a tool being used to dumb down America

I just saw the movie, it was MUCH MUCH better than this "interview", bummer.

Paul Rudd is so good looking. And mom, he's Jewish.

Is this humor? Wait maybe it's cynical, no wait - maybe it's some pathetic satire of image of ... what is this anyway? I think they're bored. So we're bored. O wait they're big stars. Sorry.
Lanie at 2:38PM on Jul 31st 2010
This is about as stupid as they come. I expect that from Steve Carell but I thought Paul Rudd was better than that. This sure did not inspire me to see the movie.

There are few things worse than guys who "think they're being funny" while trying to do some sort of improv. The trouble is... they're not good at it. And when those with little talent in this area try to do improv all that comes out is stupid. Jim Carry started the new trend. Will Ferrel now leads the list. And now with all these "Judd Apatow" followers, we have a whole new gang. When stupid doesn't work, they go for gross or over-the-top. The saddest part is that the stupid American dropouts think it's actually funny, mostly because they're high.

I'm a little confused. Why would someone give the title to a movie with the name "schmuck" in it? I would assume that every Jew knows what a schmuck is, as do others. For those that don't know, the word schmuck means penis in Yiddish. When one calls another a schmuck, most know what that signifies......

Kevin, I am attempting to place a comment, however, 2 previous comments are not being posted and I have to wonder why, I've said nothing different than what's already being said, like how this interview is like the schnooze fest of all time, but when I try and submit it, I don't even get a confirmation e-mail. Anyway, I'm curious about whether this will end up posted or will they censor it. I would also be curious if you were notified about my reply to your comment. Oh well.....
here goes nothing

This interview could not have been less funny if they tried.
Amanda at 9:06AM on Aug 3rd 2010
What drugs is Paul on :) This was soooooooo dumb
alex at 12:08AM on Aug 1st 2010
This interview was funnier than the trailer for the film. These are two of the few guys in hollywood who always make me smile. I'd love to see an entire improv set with them.

Its regularly said that there is nothing more boring, than talking to an actor... It's the WRITING that makes films funny. I LOVE these two, and this clip is worse than getting my wisdom teeth out
