The Twilight Saga

Comic Book Gets Graphic With Robert Pattinson

Hey Twihards and Robert Pattinson fans. Tired of having to go to a movie theater to see your hero? Tired of cruising from one website to another to find out more about Hollywood's most famous vampire? Well, the folks at Bluewater Productions have you covered.

The publishing company -- known for its comic book/graphic novel biographies of Michelle Obama, 'Twilight's' Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, and a Black history leaders anthology, have added Pattinson to their newly christened Fame line (which was kicked off with a comic book bio of Lady Gaga).

Due in May, the 32-page comic (with a $3.99 price tag) will trace the 'Twilight' star's career from his first performances in 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' at London's Barnes Theatre to his breakout roles in the 'Twilight' movies.<

Can 'Daybreakers' Inject Some New Blood Into the Undead Genre?

In the past few years, the vampire film has been in the forefront of our cultural zeitgeist.

With popular, blood-sucking fare like the 'Twilight' films and the top-rated HBO show 'True Blood' heating up your movie and TV screens, one might think that the genre has reached its zenith and that the trend might be on its last legs -- or, more appropriately, has been sucked dry.

Swooping into theaters Friday is 'Daybreakers,' a vampire movie highly touted by fan-boy sites like Cinematical and CHUD as a "smarter, more refreshing take on the vampire genre" and "unique," respectively. The premise of the film is quite simple: Vampires take over as the dominant species in the year 2019, with humans now on the run, fearing that they will be relocated to high-tech, blood-draining farms by the vamps.

'Twilight: Eclipse' Script Leaks Online?

Finally, an explanation for that high-pitched squealing sound you've been hearing: To the delight of 'Twilight' fans everywhere, a "leaked" copy of an alleged 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' script has made its way online.

The script's pages are watermarked with actor Jackson Rathbone's name -- Rathbone plays Jasper Hale in the film -- which would appear to legitimize the pages. Scripts are marked with actors' names to help them keep track of their copy, particularly in cases where the script is supposed to be, you know, top secret.

Sex Sells? Not at the Movies

Every once in a while someone does a study and comes to the seemingly counter-intuitive conclusion that sex scenes do not boost a movie's box office or critical acclaim.

Most recently, two scholars released a study entitled 'Sex Doesn't Sell -- Nor Impress! Content, Box Office, Critics, and Awards in Mainstream Cinema.' (Nice scholarly touch, that exclamation point.) Actually, this conclusion seems pretty obvious, especially if you look at lists of 2009's top-grossing movies and best-reviewed films.if you look at lists of 2009's top-grossing movies and best-reviewed films.

Taylor Lautner Going on 'Vision Quest'?

Taylor Lautner keeps pinning down roles in high profile films.

The 17-year-old is reportedly in talks to star in a remake of 1985's 'Vision Quest.' The original high school drama starred Matthew Modine as a driven, jock wrestler and Linda Fiorentino as an older, artsy type who threatens to distract him. (The film might be best remembered, though, for a young Madonna's cameo as a lounge singer, belting out the '80s-tastic 'Crazy for You.')

Lautner is presumably in talks for the Modine role. No word yet on who his older love interest might be, or if Madonna might return.

'New Moon' Video Pirate Gets Charges Dropped

It's illegal to videotape a vampire, but it's not necessarily a prosecutable offense.

Authorities decided to drop charges against 22-year-old Samantha Tumpach, a Chicago-area 'Twilight' fan who was arrested for taping snippets of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' in a movie theater during her sister's birthday party, according to a report in The Wrap.

'Twilight: Eclipse' to Be Released in IMAX

'Twilight: Eclipse' to Be Released in IMAXIf you thought 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' raking in $500 million worldwide in its first three weeks of release was big, get ready for something even bigger. According to Variety, the next film in 'The Twilight Saga,' 'Eclipse,' is getting the IMAX treatment.

Lately the format has become an obvious repository for explosive, man-tastic action pics like 'The Dark Knight' and the upcoming 'Avatar,' or for animated family fare like 'Kung Fu Panda' and 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,' but originally IMAX was known for showcasing lush nature films, like 1990's 'Blue Planet' and the recent 'Wild Ocean,' since the format offers an immersive experiences unique to the IMAX technology.

Robert Pattinson Fans Campaign Against the Paparazzi

It all began last weekend when photos emerged of Robert Pattinson battling a mob of paparazzi as he tried to escape from the Hollywood Hard Rock Cafe.

While making a dash for the car, his face showed signs of distress as he tried to shield himself from the cameras. There was even one shot of him with his back turned, leaning up against a wall and burying his head, as if he was waiting for the paparazzi to give up. But despite all his efforts, they didn't back off, and they followed him through the underground parking garage where he thought he'd be safe.

These photos reveal a different side to Pattinson, something fans are expressing they aren't interested in seeing. A number of fansites have gotten together to launch a worldwide campaign against the paparazzi and their intrusion into Pattinson's private life.

Website 'My Life Is Twilight' Exposes Obsessive 'Twilight' Fan Behavior

It's no secret that I'm 100 percent a self-proclaimed 'Twi-Hard' and not the slightest bit ashamed to admit it. So naturally when it comes to another person's 'Twilight' obsession I don't judge or question it, at least not up until now.

Recently, the writers at Cinematical spotlighted the website 'My Life Is Twilight,' a place where fans post daily 'Twilight' related encounters. The website title alone seemed a little over the top, but I still kept an open mind, because who was I to criticize my fellow 'Twilight' fans? However, reading through these confessions eventually had me wondering if 'The Twilight Saga' is more damaging to young teens than I'd like to admit.

Taylor Lautner Is 'Max Steel'

In a move sure to please fans of 'The Twilight Saga,' the franchise's shirt-hating, six-pack-sporting star Taylor Lautner has signed on to bring Mattel's popular 'Max Steel' character to the big screen, Variety reports.

After years as a child actor, Lautner struck gold and reached international stardom as Jacob Black in the worldwide phenomenon of 2008, otherwise known as 'Twilight.' A comparatively small role in the first film expanded into a pivotal part in 'Twilight: New Moon,' and the actor notoriously expanded with it, in all the right spots.
