'Youth in Revolt' Red-Band Trailer (VIDEO)

When fans of C.D. Payne's young adult novel 'Youth in Revolt' found out that Michael Cera ('Juno''s fangless, quippy Paulie Bleeker) would play the title role in Miguel Arteta's upcoming film adaptation, the biggest concern wasn't if Cera could pull off the fangless, quippy Nick Twisp, but rather Francios: the car-exploding, mustachioed alter-ego Twisp invents to capture the attention of a girl (Portia Doubleday) who likes her men a little more dangerous.

The early trailers seemed to confirm fans' worst suspicions, with Cera's Francois appearing too cartoonish and nonthreatening and the jokes a little too, well, PG. But the new red-band trailer exposes a far more versatile (and vulgar) Cera, who appears to have carved out a set of split personalities that play well not just off one another, but off of Cera's own as an actor. Watch the red-band trailer after the jump.

The Top 10 Movie Trailers of 2009

Where the Wild Things AreThis year gave us some great movies, as well as some fantastic movie trailers.

When you think about it, a trailer has a big job to do. It has to grab us with a few short clips, tell us what the movie's about, and make us want to gallop to the theater and plop down our hard-earned cash for a couple hours of entertainment. Even better if we call our friends on the way home and tell them to go see the movie.

It's a tall order, and not every trailer is up to the task. But the ones who get it right shine big time. Here are our picks for the top ten movie trailers of 2009.

'Season of the Witch' Trailer: Nic Cage Gets Medieval (VIDEO)

Are you into hell, people that look like birds and Nicolas Cage? Good news! Lionsgate has released the trailer for 'Season of the Witch,' a supernatural thriller that pits Cage against one of humanity's most evil foes -- the black plague. And let's not forget witches.

Cage plays Lavey, a crusader who's called upon to transport an accused black witch (Claire Foy) to a group of monks who will then perform an exorcism of sorts that should restore everything to a plague-free society. 'Hellboy' alum Ron Perlman co-stars as Felson, Cage's crusader buddy.

    Trailer Killed the Movie Star

I don't need to see the upcoming film 'Brothers', starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman. Not that I would anyway, but after seeing the trailer, I now know a Marine dies and his brother slithers into the role as "caretaker" for the widow and kids. Then, of course, it turns out he's not dead, blah blah blah. I won't give any more away, but the trailer goes on after that, revealing even more of the plot. Thank you Lionsgate. I can save my $11 when it hits theatres December 4.

I hate trailers. I particularly hate that I'm a hostage of sorts in the theatre, there early to get a seat, but forced to watch four or five trailers. Should I close my eyes and stick fingers in both my ears, repeating "lalalalala I can't hear you; I can't hear you"?

Amanda Seyfried Plays Matchmaker in 'Letters to Juliet' Trailer (VIDEO)

Like a romantic version of Israel's Wailing Wall, countless people travel to Verona, Italy each year to leave messages for Juliet, the female side of William Shakespeare's legendary pair of lovers, many of which receive an answer by a rotating cadre of volunteers. After the release of the 2006 book 'Letters to Juliet,' director Gary Winick ('Bride Wars,' '13 Going on 30') brings the book to life with the upcoming film of the same name.

Robert Pattinson's 'Remember Me' Trailer Is Released

Robert Pattinson's next non-vampire movie doesn't open for another four months but that didn't stop Summit Entertainment from riding on 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' buzz and releasing the trailer for his romantic drama 'Remember Me' a few days before the Nov. 20 release of the latest big screen offering from Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series.

The British heartthrob puts his charisma and good looks to use as a brooding, misunderstood rebel without much of a cause except to reconnect with his distant father (Pierce Brosnan) following a family tragedy, and, of course, to get the girl.

High Energy Galore in Exclusive Trailer for 'Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D'

Country music may be all abuzz over Taylor Swift this month after she wrestled the coveted Entertainer of the Year award from Kenny Chesney at the Country Music Association Awards. But that doesn't mean Chesney is going away quietly. Quite the opposite.

Chesney, who won the award the previous four consecutive years, is planning on becoming a big-screen presence, as they say, at a theater near you. In April, the Knoxville native will release his first full-length concert film, 'Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D'.

Miley Cyrus Plays it Safe in 'Last Song' Trailer (VIDEO)

Disney superstar Miley Cyrus leaves the comfortable confines of 'Hannah Montana' for a walk on the wild -- or at least PG-rated -- side, stepping into her first grown-up (sort of) role in 'The Last Song,' Disney's screen adaptation of novelist Nicholas Sparks' teen romance tearjerker.

And from the look of the movie's trailer, Miley's charisma has enough energy to light up a small town, but what about her range as a leading lady?

Kate Hudson Shows Off Her Singing Skills in New 'Nine' Trailer

The forthcoming musical 'Nine' features a world-class array of beautiful and talented women, including globe-spanning Oscar-winners Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Sophia Loren. But in the movie's new trailer, they all take a back seat as the spotlight shines on Hollywood's most unexpected new singing and dancing sensation, Kate Hudson.

Over the past decade, Hudson has made a career of light romantic comedy fare, films that demanded little more of her than to be feisty and adorable. In 'Nine,' however, she's called upon to be slinky and sexy, as well as to sing and dance. Judging by this trailer, which is little more than a Kate Hudson music video with an all-star cast of extras, she delivers.

Eye Candy Abounds in 'Clash of the Titans' Trailer (VIDEO)

Yes, it's another remake. But in this case, even die-hard fans of the original 'Clash of the Titans' -- and there were lots of them; the film was a box office hit -- have got to be excited about this high-tech do-over.

Helmed by 'The Incredible Hulk' director Louis Leterrier, the new 'Clash of the Titans' retells the Greek myth of Perseus's quest to save the Princess Andromeda. Though 1981's 'Clash' was groundbreaking at the time -- thanks to stop-motion animation by effects legend Ray Harryhausen -- technology has come far in the intervening years, giving fantasy guru Leterrier a host of new tools to retell this classic story.
