    'Blind Side' Movie Reviews

Sandra Bullock in 'Blind Side'Following the lead of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' and 'Precious,' Hollywood has pulled another best-seller off the shelf for a feature film adaptation with the 'The Blind Side,' opening November 20. Written and directed by John Lee Hancock and based on Michael Lewis' 2006 best-selling sports drama 'The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game,' the film comes to life with Sandra Bullock running the show as Leigh Anne Tuohy, an affluent socialite do-gooder whose family adopts an illiterate and neglected teenage schoolmate of her young son. Motivated by his supportive new family and a host of enviable opportunities, the teen becomes a sought-after college football prospect and eventually a first-round 2009 NFL draft pick for the Baltimore Ravens.

'The Blind Side' sticks to Hollywood's feel-good formula of inspiring audiences with the incredible tale of an unstoppable underdog, an old standby that made classics out of similar sports dramas like 'Rocky' and 'Rudy.' The fact that Hancock's picture is based on a true story gives the feature some added weight, as do solid performances from Bullock and newcomer Quinton Aaron, who Variety says "more than holds his own opposite Bullock" as real-life gridiron hero Michael Oher. Country star Tim McGraw, who scored plenty of cred for his role in the 2004 book-to-flick football drama 'Friday Night Lights,' co-stars as Bullock's husband, and although he looks almost unrecognizable, his acting talents haven't gone unnoticed. Judging from early reviews, despite the film's cookie-cutter storyline, 'The Blind Side' has most critics cheering.

Amanda Seyfried Plays Matchmaker in 'Letters to Juliet' Trailer (VIDEO)

Like a romantic version of Israel's Wailing Wall, countless people travel to Verona, Italy each year to leave messages for Juliet, the female side of William Shakespeare's legendary pair of lovers, many of which receive an answer by a rotating cadre of volunteers. After the release of the 2006 book 'Letters to Juliet,' director Gary Winick ('Bride Wars,' '13 Going on 30') brings the book to life with the upcoming film of the same name.

Robert Pattinson's 'Remember Me' Trailer Is Released

Robert Pattinson's next non-vampire movie doesn't open for another four months but that didn't stop Summit Entertainment from riding on 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' buzz and releasing the trailer for his romantic drama 'Remember Me' a few days before the Nov. 20 release of the latest big screen offering from Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series.

The British heartthrob puts his charisma and good looks to use as a brooding, misunderstood rebel without much of a cause except to reconnect with his distant father (Pierce Brosnan) following a family tragedy, and, of course, to get the girl.

High Energy Galore in Exclusive Trailer for 'Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D'

Country music may be all abuzz over Taylor Swift this month after she wrestled the coveted Entertainer of the Year award from Kenny Chesney at the Country Music Association Awards. But that doesn't mean Chesney is going away quietly. Quite the opposite.

Chesney, who won the award the previous four consecutive years, is planning on becoming a big-screen presence, as they say, at a theater near you. In April, the Knoxville native will release his first full-length concert film, 'Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D'.

Miley Cyrus Plays it Safe in 'Last Song' Trailer (VIDEO)

Disney superstar Miley Cyrus leaves the comfortable confines of 'Hannah Montana' for a walk on the wild -- or at least PG-rated -- side, stepping into her first grown-up (sort of) role in 'The Last Song,' Disney's screen adaptation of novelist Nicholas Sparks' teen romance tearjerker.

And from the look of the movie's trailer, Miley's charisma has enough energy to light up a small town, but what about her range as a leading lady?

Kate Hudson Shows Off Her Singing Skills in New 'Nine' Trailer

The forthcoming musical 'Nine' features a world-class array of beautiful and talented women, including globe-spanning Oscar-winners Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Sophia Loren. But in the movie's new trailer, they all take a back seat as the spotlight shines on Hollywood's most unexpected new singing and dancing sensation, Kate Hudson.

Over the past decade, Hudson has made a career of light romantic comedy fare, films that demanded little more of her than to be feisty and adorable. In 'Nine,' however, she's called upon to be slinky and sexy, as well as to sing and dance. Judging by this trailer, which is little more than a Kate Hudson music video with an all-star cast of extras, she delivers.

Eye Candy Abounds in 'Clash of the Titans' Trailer (VIDEO)

Yes, it's another remake. But in this case, even die-hard fans of the original 'Clash of the Titans' -- and there were lots of them; the film was a box office hit -- have got to be excited about this high-tech do-over.

Helmed by 'The Incredible Hulk' director Louis Leterrier, the new 'Clash of the Titans' retells the Greek myth of Perseus's quest to save the Princess Andromeda. Though 1981's 'Clash' was groundbreaking at the time -- thanks to stop-motion animation by effects legend Ray Harryhausen -- technology has come far in the intervening years, giving fantasy guru Leterrier a host of new tools to retell this classic story.

'Brothers' Movie Trailer: Gyllenhaal, Maguire Duke It Out for Portman

Jim Sheridan's 'Brothers,' based on Susan Beir's 2004 Danish-language film, is the latest victim to Hollywood's current trend of plucking the rights to well-regarded foreign flicks and making them their own. (The 'Let the Right One In' remake is, sadly, shooting in New Mexico at this very moment.)

The new trailer showcases a weepy Natalie Portman mourning the death of her recently "killed in combat" husband, played by Tobey Maguire. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Maguire's brother, who comforts Portman ... that is, until Maguire makes a miraculous return. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Angelina Jolie Kicks Butt in 'Salt' Trailer (Video)

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie is taking a break from Oscar bait to nourish her butt-kicking babe side in the brand new trailer for the spy thriller 'Salt.'

And, not that we didn't love 'The Changeling' (OK, maybe we didn't), but we couldn't be happier to see Angie flaunting the athleticism and general penchant for badassery she's honed in such films as 'Tomb Raider,' 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' and 'Wanted.' Here she plays a CIA operative forced to prove her innocence when she's fingered as a Russian double agent aiming to assassinate the U.S. president. Watch the trailer after the jump.

WTF? 'Evil Weed' Trailer Has Us Giggling

    "The Weee-eeee--eeeed. It's tainted. It's tainted!!"

In the tradition of, well, um, nothing else, we proudly present to you the trailer for David Wexler's recently released 'Evil Weed,' the first stoner slasher film of its kind. (And they say weed doesn't motivate people.)
