Talk about revamping a classic. If you've seen the trailers for Guy Ritchie's highly-anticipated adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes' (opening December 25), you know exactly what we're talking about. And with Ritchie at the helm, we're confident the final product won't disappoint.

Peter Jackson's 'Lovely Bones,' which opens December 11, is based on the best selling novel by Alice Sebold and follows the tragic tale of Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan), a young woman brutally raped and murdered by a neighbor. Caught in a heaven-like medium, Susie watches over as her grieving family -- including her father (Mark Wahlberg), mother (Rachel Weisz) and grandmother (Susan Sarandon) -- struggles to move past her demise, and her killer aims to murder again.

Hello, Oscar bait. Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire will star in director Jim Sheridan's 'Brothers' (opening Dec. 4). The film follows Grace (Portman), a young wife dealing with the presumed death of Marine husband Sam Cahill (Maguire), killed while at war in Afghanistan. When Sam's brother Tommy (Gyllenhaal) steps in to help Grace rebuild her life, they develop a mutual attraction. In an unexpected twist of fate, it is revealed that Sam never perished and will be returning to his family. The lasting impact of war on soldiers and their families is evident as these relationships are thwarted by trauma.
