There's something really sexy about Scrooge McDuck: In honor of actress Chloë Sevigny's birthday this week, we offer up 'The Last Days of Disco,' Whit Stillman's critically acclaimed and highly quotable 1998 gem, our free movie pick of the day.

The film follows a band of verbose, upwardly mobile young professionals as they navigate Manhattan's murky, often shallow relationship waters during disco's waning days. Sevigny stars as Alice, the beautifully intelligent yet socially awkward aspiring book editor, and Kate Beckinsale puts on a convincing American accent as the self-absorbed and privileged Charlotte, Alice's publishing cohort and frenemy.

We're surprised nobody alerted the fire department during last night's 'The Jay Leno Show' when 'New Moon' star Dakota Fanning guested, because it looked like the show was about to become part of a four-alarm blaze.

As the many throngs of girls clamor in line awaiting their first glimpse of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' this weekend, they can rest assured their time will certainly not go unwasted.

With hundreds (maybe thousands?) of 'Twilight'-themed viral videos and spoofs currently circulating throughout the web (and easily accessible via smart phones), the millions of 'Twilight' addicts can whet their appetite with clips that range from a Sim's parody animating the 'New Moon' characters to the raunchier, like a Brandon Routh-starring spoof on tampon commercials and the dangers of dating a vampire while menstruating. On second thought, maybe the Twihards and the Robsessed may not want to watch these -- or perhaps they should go to Urlesque's collection of favorite 'Twilight' videos instead. Like a romantic version of Israel's Wailing Wall, countless people travel to Verona, Italy each year to leave messages for Juliet, the female side of William Shakespeare's legendary pair of lovers, many of which receive an answer by a rotating cadre of volunteers. After the release of the 2006 book 'Letters to Juliet,' director Gary Winick ('Bride Wars,' '13 Going on 30') brings the book to life with the upcoming film of the same name.

Who's going to challenge rapper 50 Cent's claim on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' that he's a 'Twilight' fan? You? We didn't think so.

The rapper, who attended the premiere of 'New Moon' in L.A. on Tuesday, told Kimmel he was drawn to it because of its special effects, and he's also impressed that the movie, which is based on Stephenie Meyer's mega-selling vampire series, is backed by an independent studio.

How does Robert Pattinson deal with rabid 'Twilight' fans? Why, he bites them, of course, regardless of their gender.

Last night, Pattinson told David Letterman the story of how one fan, a man he described as tipping the scales at more than 200 pounds, asked to receive a bite from everyone's favorite vampire. Pattinson jokingly said he was happy to oblige. "The surprising thing was I kind of liked it afterwards," he said. "I've been out to dinner with him a couple of times."

'Lorenzo's Oil' doesn't shy away from portraying the heart-wrenching suffering of the five-year-old titular character as he's ravaged by a rare degenerative brain disease that slowly deprives him of his faculties. It's this unflinching depiction by director George Miller, himself trained as a physician, coupled with fantastic performances by Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon as Lorenzo's parents, that make Miller's 1992 effort all the more effective. It's a terrific tearjerker of a film, and it's our free movie pick of the day.

Set during 1984, the Academy Award-nominated 'Lorenzo's Oil' is based on the real-life case of parents Augusto and Michaela Odone who dedicate themselves to finding a treatment for their son's ALD, of which little was known about at the time, and for which no form of therapy existed.

Disney superstar Miley Cyrus leaves the comfortable confines of 'Hannah Montana' for a walk on the wild -- or at least PG-rated -- side, stepping into her first grown-up (sort of) role in 'The Last Song,' Disney's screen adaptation of novelist Nicholas Sparks' teen romance tearjerker.

And from the look of the movie's trailer, Miley's charisma has enough energy to light up a small town, but what about her range as a leading lady?

Broadway was abuzz when Neil Simon's 'Brighton Beach Memoirs' opened in 1983, making Matthew Broderick an instant star and placing the prolific playwright-screenwriter -- whose talent was often seen as little more than crafting one-liners -- in the pantheon of great American artists. Last month, Broadway tried reviving 'Brighton Beach,' but the play, with veteran stage actress and former 'Roseanne' star Laurie Metcalf, went out with the tide.

But the 1986 film version of 'Brighton Beach' holds up nicely -- so it's today's suggestion for free film of the day.
