Scrooge Movies and TV Specials: The Best of 'Bah, Humbug!'

Jim Carrey in Disney's A Christmas Carol'A Christmas Carol' is so well-known and oft-told a tale (we found nearly 70 versions listed!) that the TV spots for the new film with Jim Carrey need only hit the highlights: Marley's ghost! Fezziwig's party! We know them all by heart and the fun is in finding out how this Ghost of Christmas Past compares to that one. And, of course, seeing our favorite actors step into the role of the curmudgeonly miser. He's been embodied by everyone from Walter Matthau to Vanessa Williams (as "Ebony" Scrooge) but here we give you the versions dearest to our heart. God bless these adaptations, one and all!

Eminem Wants to Make Us Scream (In Horror Movie)

Seven years after making his film debut in the quasi-autobiographical '8 Mile,' Eminem is set to star in and produce 'Shady Talez,' a 3D horror film directed by veteran actor/director Robert Townsend ('The Five Heartbeats,' 'The Parent 'Hood'), according to Screen Daily.

Billed as a cross between 'Creepshow' and 'The Twilight Zone,' 'Talez' will be written by 'Underworld' creator Kevin Grevioux and writer/producer Dallas Jackson. Along with Em (ne Marshall Mathers), child star Bobb'e J Thompson ('Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs') has been pegged to star in the film.

Trailer: 'The Fourth Kind'

There's an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances over the last 40 years. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered. Loosely based on actual events, 'The Fourth Kind' follows the story of these so-called alien possessions.

Psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) begins videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovers some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented. 'The Fourth Kind' exposes the terrifying revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.

Fox Searchlight Makes Last-Ditch Effort at Oscars With 'Crazy Heart'

Having spent much of 2009 turning its searchlight toward the ocean of filmdom and seeing little more than inky blackness, Fox Searchlight is suddenly going all in, advancing 'Crazy Heart' to a limited December release -- just in the nick of time for serious consideration by Uncle Oscar.

'A Christmas Carol' Movie Reviews

Jim Carrey in Disney's A Christmas CarolCall Robert Zemeckis' latest performance-capture animation effort the 'Polarizing Express,' at least where movie critics are concerned.

Some write that 'Disney's A Christmas Carol,' a 3D movie featuring Jim Carrey in myriad voice roles, takes Zemeckis' favored digital production technology to another level, with the characters delivering more depth of feeling than what was found in the filmmaker's earlier performance-capture films, 'The Polar Express' and 'Beowulf.'

Other critics, meanwhile, say the film has no feeling at all. Take a look at what the reviews are saying, then tell us what you think.

Timberlake, Aykroyd, Faris to Star in Live-Action/CGI 'Yogi Bear'

Hey, Boo-Boo! Warner Bros.' 3-D live-action/CGI animated version of the much-loved Hanna-Barbera cartoon 'Yogi Bear' is moving forward with the announcement of the casting of Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake and Anna Faris.

The studio is in talks with Aykroyd to voice Yogi, and Timberlake may join in as the voice of Yogi's bow-tie wearing sidekick Boo-Boo. Faris would play a nature documentary filmmaker who travels to Jellystone Park and encounters the animated characters, according to a report in Variety.
