Lionsgate Plans Aggressive 'Precious' Release for Thanksgiving

"Is America ready for a movie about an obese Harlem girl raped and impregnated by her abusive father?" The New York Times magazine asked recently. We'll soon find out.

Thus far, Oprah and Tyler Perry's endorsement of 'Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire,' combined with positive word of mouth, has led to packed theaters. Lionsgate plans to expand the release of 'Precious' to between 800 and 1,200 theater screens by Thanksgiving Day. 'Precious' was acquired for $5.5 million by the Vancouver-based niche movie studio after its triple award win at Sundance.

ReelzChannel to Celebrate 'New Moon'

For those of you not standing in line waiting for the November 20 release of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' ReelzChannel is dedicating all next week to the heavily anticipated 'Twilight' sequel.

The channel is presenting a slew of 'New Moon'-related material, including red-carpet premieres, press junkets and fan events, as well as the grammatically awkward-sounding 'Leonard Maltin's Secret's Out.'

John Cusack on Going Sci-Fi With '2012' and 'Hot Tub Time Machine'

John Cusack has certainly constructed a varied and fulfilling career in Hollywood. He's become known for a wide range of roles -- from Lloyd Dobler in romantic comedy 'Say Anything' to a U.S. Marshall in 'Con Air' to a beleaguered author in the horror thriller '1408.' It's fair to say that, given his affinity for smaller films and big budget movies, Cusack works on his own terms and stretches himself as far as possible.

Now, the talented thespian is taking the plunge into big budget sci-fi with Roland Emmerich's latest end-of-the-world epic '2012,' inspired by a Mayan prophecy that declares that humanity and the world will undergo a massive transition by Dec. 21, 2012. In Hollywood terms, that means making an apocalyptic thriller that signals doom for us all.

Overflowing with state-of-the-art special effects, nail-biting disaster sequences and dark humor, '2012' allows Cusack to inject his warmth and charisma into the role of a divorced husband (who also happens to be a beleaguered author/limo driver) who will do whatever it takes to save his family from extinction as the world is literally falling apart beneath them.

Cusack sat down one-on-one with Moviefone to talk about finally deciding to star in a mega-blockbuster, tackling stunts on land and underwater, and what type of role might be next for him.

How George Clooney and Matt Damon Films Are Really Political Actions

In his new comedy, 'The Men Who Stare at Goats,' George Clooney assumes another role in which he plays a man associated with the covert operations of the U.S. Government (however silly they may be in this case). And Clooney fans are laughing. A CIA agent with the power to kill a goat simply by staring at it? Hilarious!

But some moviegoers may, once the laughter dies down, look at the choices Clooney's been making since he found himself part of a certain Hollywood clique, and wonder if they don't reveal a man using Hollywood's incredible reach to push a specific political agenda across the globe.

Veteran's Day Quotes: Most Memorable Lines from War Movies

One of our favorite things about Veteran's Day, other than celebrating the heroic service to our nation from the men and women who have served in our armed forces, is the fact that it gives cable stations the perfect excuse to put together awesome war movie marathons.

What better time, then, for us to bring to you some of our favorite lines from those classic films? So with that in mind, here's our list of the Most Memorable Lines in War Movie History.

Brig. Gen. Norman Cota (Robert Mitchum) in 'The Longest Day': "Only two kinds of people are gonna stay on this beach: those that are already dead and those that are gonna die. Now get off your butts. You guys are the Fighting 29th."

5 Reasons Elijah Wood Is Super-Rad

Surprisingly the publication Miller McCue, which is usually as dry as its name, caught Movefone's wandering eye (we really need corrective lenses). They conducted a mathematical analysis on which actors on average score highest with critics.

While we don't understand the formula (we were always too busy rewinding VHS tapes to do our statistics homework), we're impressed by the results. Child star-turned-fringe-hipster/movie-icon Elijah Wood ended up on top, beating beloved Academy stalwarts Philip Seymour Hoffman, Clint Eastwood, and Tom Hanks (meanwhile, Freddie Prinze Jr., star of 'Wing Commander,' finished at the bottom).

Some may be surprised, but around the office "Elijah Wood" is synonymous with "Super-Rad." For example, "'The Road' looks like it could be Elijah Wood!" Doubters need only to read further.

Tarantino May Be Planning an 'Inglourious Basterds' Prequel

Hey, 'Inglourious Basterds' fans: Can't get enough Nazi-scalping, revisionist history, and bad spelling? Then you may be in for a treat: a 'Basterds' prequel that would reunite writer/director Quentin Tarantino, Brad Pitt and the rest of the film's unlikely World War II action heroes.

E! Online spoke to 'Basterds' co-star Eli Roth (pictured, left, with Pitt), who said that Pitt and the rest of the cast "would drop whatever they're doing" if given the chance to reprise their roles, that Tarantino has a script mostly written, and that there are even some scenes already in the can.
