Katherine McPhee Outed as 'Twilight' Fan

'Twilight' fever is hitting Hollywood hard, with 'American Idol' alum Katharine McPhee the latest to be bitten by the vampire bug.

McPhee was spotted at New York's La Guardia airport Wednesday showing her "Team Edward" spirit with a snazzy (and eco-friendly) Edward Cullen water bottle in support of 'New Moon's' impending release.

Sony to Remake Canadian Action-Comedy Hit 'Fathers & Guns'

If the headline above has you scratching your head, you haven't been to Quebec in a while.

According to Variety, Sony Pictures has acquired the remake rights to 'Fathers and Guns' ('De Pere en Flic') the Quebec summer blockbuster that went on to become the highest-grossing French-language film ever released in the province.

Lionsgate Plans Aggressive 'Precious' Release for Thanksgiving

"Is America ready for a movie about an obese Harlem girl raped and impregnated by her abusive father?" The New York Times magazine asked recently. We'll soon find out.

Thus far, Oprah and Tyler Perry's endorsement of 'Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire,' combined with positive word of mouth, has led to packed theaters. Lionsgate plans to expand the release of 'Precious' to between 800 and 1,200 theater screens by Thanksgiving Day. 'Precious' was acquired for $5.5 million by the Vancouver-based niche movie studio after its triple award win at Sundance.

ReelzChannel to Celebrate 'New Moon'

For those of you not standing in line waiting for the November 20 release of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' ReelzChannel is dedicating all next week to the heavily anticipated 'Twilight' sequel.

The channel is presenting a slew of 'New Moon'-related material, including red-carpet premieres, press junkets and fan events, as well as the grammatically awkward-sounding 'Leonard Maltin's Secret's Out.'

John Cusack on Going Sci-Fi With '2012' and 'Hot Tub Time Machine'

John Cusack has certainly constructed a varied and fulfilling career in Hollywood. He's become known for a wide range of roles -- from Lloyd Dobler in romantic comedy 'Say Anything' to a U.S. Marshall in 'Con Air' to a beleaguered author in the horror thriller '1408.' It's fair to say that, given his affinity for smaller films and big budget movies, Cusack works on his own terms and stretches himself as far as possible.

Now, the talented thespian is taking the plunge into big budget sci-fi with Roland Emmerich's latest end-of-the-world epic '2012,' inspired by a Mayan prophecy that declares that humanity and the world will undergo a massive transition by Dec. 21, 2012. In Hollywood terms, that means making an apocalyptic thriller that signals doom for us all.

Overflowing with state-of-the-art special effects, nail-biting disaster sequences and dark humor, '2012' allows Cusack to inject his warmth and charisma into the role of a divorced husband (who also happens to be a beleaguered author/limo driver) who will do whatever it takes to save his family from extinction as the world is literally falling apart beneath them.

Cusack sat down one-on-one with Moviefone to talk about finally deciding to star in a mega-blockbuster, tackling stunts on land and underwater, and what type of role might be next for him.

How George Clooney and Matt Damon Films Are Really Political Actions

In his new comedy, 'The Men Who Stare at Goats,' George Clooney assumes another role in which he plays a man associated with the covert operations of the U.S. Government (however silly they may be in this case). And Clooney fans are laughing. A CIA agent with the power to kill a goat simply by staring at it? Hilarious!

But some moviegoers may, once the laughter dies down, look at the choices Clooney's been making since he found himself on the Hollywood A list, and wonder if they don't reveal a man using the power of his celebrity to push a specific political agenda across the globe.
