HalloweenCostumes

'Transformers' Halloween Costumes: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron & Starscream

The Costume: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream, AKA what every 6-year-old and nostalgic 80s cartoon lover will be wearing this Halloween

For Bumblebee: OK, it's safe to say you'll never even come lose to looking as cool as this guy for your own Bumblebee Halloween costume, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try. First and foremost, hunt down a yellow motorcycle helmet, preferably with black stripes on it (but you can always paint those on.) Next, go to every department, vintage, and second hand store within a 40-mile radius and just buy anything that's yellow. Doesn't matter what it is. Seriously. You'll need that much.

Men's Halloween Costume Ideas

For the fellas who dread coming up with creative men's Halloween costume ideas, and those of you who've outgrown the "throw on a wig and go as a woman" phase, Moviefone is here to help. We've come up with men's costume ideas based on movie characters that are easy to make and sure to impress.

Halloween Costume Ideas for Couples

Halloween costumes for couples are always a hit, but rarely unique (you know who you are, "plug and socket" and "Sonny and Cher"), so Moviefone is changing it up. We've got great Halloween costume ideas for couples and groups based on the hottest movies -- plus a few timeless classics -- that'll keep Halloween interesting. Also, you'll save money with our tips on where to shop and convenient how-to instructions for homemade costumes.

'Terminator Salvation' Halloween Costume: Rantin' Christian Bale

The Costume: John Connor (as played by the ranting Christian Bale)

What You'll Need: Don't get us wrong, we love us some Christian Bale. But if you can't get a little bit of fun -- and a clever Halloween costume -- out of his infamous 'Terminator Salvation' set rant, you should probably just skip the trick-or-treating thang this year.

So, to create a Ranting Christian Bale-as-John Connor look, you'll need a dark military fatigue-ish shirt and pants, dark boots, dark jacket, various (faux, of course) weapons like guns, knives and ammunition, black fingerless gloves, a buzz cut, dirt or makeup smeared on your face, light facial hair, and, the pièce de résistance, a head full of expletives ready to fly at any and every passerby.

'Harry Potter' Halloween Costumes: Harry, Hermione and Ron

Halloween is approaching, and we're giving out treats: tips on how to dress like your favorite movie characters.

The Costume: Harry, Hermione and Ron from 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'

What You'll Need:

For all: A Gryffindor tie, a black robe (a black graduation robe works) with the Hogwarts logo patch sewn on, a Hogwarts scarf.

'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' Halloween Costume

Halloween is approaching, and we're giving out treats: tips on how to dress like your favorite movie characters.

The Costume: Wolverine

What You'll Need: You can purchase a ready-made "Classic" Wolverine get-up, or you can do a DIY version of the modern -- a.k.a. Hugh Jackman's hotter version -- Wolvie. Essential elements: Faded jeans, large metal belt buckle, boots, white tank top undershirt, button-down shirt over that, beat-up dark leather jacket (with three orange stripes around each arm, i.e. duct tape), muttonchop facial hair, Wolverine's duck-tail-ish hairdo and, of course, the Adamantium claws.

Tyler Perry's Madea Halloween Costume

Madea Halloween costumeHalloween is approaching, and we're giving out treats: tips on how to dress like your favorite movie characters.

The Costume: Tyler Perry's Mabel Simmons AKA Madea, a no-nonsense, hardcore grandmother easily prone to violence and threats for comic relief.

What You'll Need: The best part about going as Madea for Halloween is the simplicity and ease with which you can quickly transform into the brash grandma. To start, you'll want to get a flowery shirt three or four sizes too big, available here or wherever else fine grandma clothes are sold.

Max: 'Where the Wild Things' Are Halloween Costume

Halloween is approaching, and we're giving out treats: tips on how to dress like your favorite movie characters.

Costume: Max from 'Where the Wild Things Are'

What You'll Need: Since most of the snazzy-looking Max pajamas in existence sold out ages ago, you're going to have to get crafty if you want to go as the mischievous little boy in wolf's clothing from Maurice Sednak's beloved children's book and director Spike Jonze's poignant new film (in theaters Oct. 16). In other words, you're going to have to make the costume from scratch.

Movie Character Costumes for Halloween 2009

Racking your brain for good Halloween costume ideas? We feel your pain. That's why we're dishing out great ideas for movie-related Halloween costumes every day this month.

Want to dress up as a character from 'The Hangover'? Or maybe you prefer to bare almost all as Randy the Ram from 'The Wrestler'? No problem, we've got how-to instructions for the best character costumes from the latest movie hits -- plus a few classics, too.

Spock, Uhura, Nero, & Captain Kirk: 'Star Trek' Halloween Costumes

Halloween is approaching, and we're giving out treats: tips on how to dress like your favorite movie characters.

The Costume: Kirk, Spock, Uhura and Nero

What You'll Need: For Kirk: Black pants, gold-colored knit shirt with the 'Star Trek' logo and a short, slightly spiky hairdo. Additionally, add some cuts and bruises to the face – Chris Pine's movie Kirk took a beating.

For Spock: Spock ears, Spock bowl cut wig, arched eyebrows, black pants and a dark blue knit shirt with the 'Star Trek' logo.
